SCHOOL
Cupeyville School is a quality English-instruction college-preparatory from PPK to 12th
grade. Providing academic excellence since 1963, Cupeyville School is a private, non-
sectarian and co-educational school with a multicultural student community. Ranked
among Puerto Rico’s Top English teaching private schools, Cupeyville School’s student
population is approximately 934 students and employs a combined faculty and
administrative staff of approximately 130 members. Cupeyville School recognizes the
multiple learning styles and needs of its students, thereby offering Regular, Honors and
Advance Placement curriculum as well as an integrated Bridges Program for students
with mild learning disabilities.
Character is at the core of Cupeyville School’s educational mission. Cupeyville School
prepares well-rounded individuals and committed citizens for a changing society.
Wisdom is fostered through the careful harmonization of four cornerstones: Academic
Excellence, Individual Creativity, Empathic Spirit, and Physical Wellness.
Cupeyville School’s campus is located in
the Cupey Bajo, San Juan metropolitan
area on six and half acres of land. Our
facilities include campus-wide WiFi,
information centers, science labs,
computer labs, art resource classrooms,
home economics classroom with full
kitchen, dance, drama and music studios,
foreign language classrooms, an
auditorium, competitive swimming pool,
volleyball and basketball indoor courts,
playground area, faculty resource room,
infirmary, security guard service and full
service cafeteria.
Our highly qualified faculty and
administrative staff understand our holistic
view of the individual and are committed
to uphold our school’s mission, goals and
academic standards. They engage
numerous work hours in their classrooms,
as well as in extracurricular activities with
the objective of enabling every student to
reach their highest potential. As a college-
preparatory institution, we possess that
first and most important ingredient for
success: a talented and dedicated staff.
Cupeyville School is accredited by the
Middle States Association of Colleges and
Schools, the Comisión Acreditadora de

Cupeyville School is comprised of a
multicultural, fully bilingual student
population. Our student body is well
balanced with a fine mix of academically
skilled, creative and athletic students.
Students are active in Student Council,
Honor Societies, Oratory and Forensic
organizations, Academic clubs, Community
Service and Environmental clubs and Fine
and Performing Arts Clubs. Many students
compete in one or more of our 25
competitive sports teams. A total of 70
Community Service hours are required for
graduation from High School. 100% of
Cupeyville School graduates are accepted
in an accredited stateside or overseas 4-year
Higher Learning Institution, many with full
scholarships. Cupeyville School has
achieved the prestigious Presidential
Scholar, National Merit Scholar, National
Hispanic Recognition Scholar and Dr.
Adolfo Fortier Awards for its student’s
superior test scores.

ADMISSIONS
Cupeyville School has a highly
selective but caring and holistic
admissions policy. Admission test for
grades Kinder to 12 is required.
Interview with the student is required
for grades 7 to 12. School visit for
grades Kinder to 6. It is school policy
to accept all applicants without regards
to social status, denominational
preferences, or race.
GRADING
All High School students require a 1.0
GPA or above for graduation.
GPA CALCULATION
GPA is unweighted. All subjects,
whether passed or failed, are included
in the computation. A minimum of 15
credits from grades 10 to 12 are
required for graduation. Grades are
recorded on the transcript and grade
point average is computed annually.

Cupeyville School does not rank its
students.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Students from grades 10 to 12 must
complete the following:
• 3 years of English
• 3 years of Spanish
• 3 years of Math: Geometry,
Pre-Calculus, and Calculus or College
Math
• 3 years of Science, 2 with laboratory
(Biology and Chemistry)
• 3 years of History: World History, US
History, and PR History
• 70 Hours of Community Service
• Senior Project Presentation
CURRICULUM
The Cupeyville School curriculum is
college-preparatory. Pre-School is
from grades PPK to Kinder and
Elementary School is from grades 1
to 6. Junior High School is from
grades 7 to 9 and Secondary School is
from grades 10 to 12. Our
comprehensive core curriculum
includes all the required academic
courses as well as enrichment courses
such as Art, Music, Physical
Education, Computer Laboratories
and Foreign Languages. Our Full
English immersion programs apply
diverse teaching methodologies and
strategies to engage our students and
promote learning including, Creative
and Research Project Presentations,
Conferences and Lectures, Field
Experiences and Student Directed
Activities. Academic development is
monitored and evaluated through
regular class examination and
grading, as well as annual
standardized tests, such as IOWA
tests for elementary and high school,
PIENSE tests for middle school,
College Board admissions test for
high school, PSAT’s for 10th and
11th grade, and SAT’s for 12th grade.

graduates with outstanding records of
college placement and achievement.
