REPORTING TO PARENTS
Our School Reports to parents formally at the end of each Semester. Report Cards are currently being
prepared for distribution in the last week of this term.
Reporting is part of how we communicate with parents and building the school-parent partnership to improve
student learning. School reporting will outline:
the learning expectations for the student for their year level
the student’s achievement against expected standards for their year level
how well the student is engaging with the expected learning
how the student may be able to improve.

Here are some snippets of previous Report Cards—they show what
the Report Cards will look like for the different Year levels.
YEARS 3-6
It is important to note that if your child is given:
‘Working With’
‘Sound’
‘C’
This means that your child is demonstrating an understanding
and application of knowledge, concepts and skills as
appropriate for their year level.
STATIONERY EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT
Many of the teachers are reporting that there
are students in their classes who are needing
an ‘equipment top up’.
Some teachers have already sent home
information letting parents know exactly what
equipment is requiring to be replenished.
The holidays are a great time to ask your child
to bring home their pencil case so that you can
do a stock take and re-stock with what is
needed.
A student’s stationery (that is, books, pencils, rubbers etc) are their essential
tools of the trade. To not have these tools can have a significant impact on
the student’s ability to complete set learning tasks.
Behaviour Focus—Persistence Congratulations to the following students who were seen to be ‘Persistent’ this week:
Kahlia Jones Philippa Seymour
Steven Homan Xavier Bowles
Montana Morrison Joshua Wiseman

CITIZENSHIP &
ACHIEVEMENT AWARD Kindly sponsored by the Toogoolawah IGA.
April Henderson April is a kind, caring and
energetic member of our
school community. In both
the classroom and the
playground you can find
April striving to be inclusive
and friendly towards her
classmates and students
from other grades. She
also has a fabulous smile-
which we’re always keen to
see more of, and which compliments her happy
disposition.
In the classroom April takes great pride in producing
neat bookwork and has made significant progress
this semester with both her handwriting and spelling.
She regularly completes her homework and always
strives to be on task. She is also learning the value
of being an active listener and is showing that she
can become a great future leader in our school. This
term April has also built up her resilience and is
learning not to give up, even when a task can seem
very difficult.
All these attributes combined show why April is not
only a valued class member in her 1/2 class, but
also an asset to our school community and its
values. Congratulations April, you should feel very
proud!

Year 6 News
Recently Year 6 have been working on a
number of units in Maths, English and
Science and completing assessment
items for them. They have also been
practising reading and interpreting skills to
help them improve their performance in
such assessment items so that they can
more effectively demonstrate their new
found skills and understanding.
These units included plot structure in
short stories, decimal place value, reading
timetables and changes of state and
permanent and reversible changes in
various substances. At the same time as
preparing displays for the show!
While some students have found these
activities challenging, I have seen a
growing desire amongst the whole class
to do well and improve their skills and
knowledge.
Our display for the show comprised
various media in which the children
expressed their impressions and
interpretation of Lynne Reid Banks’ novel
The Indian in the Cupboard, which I am
currently reading to them. Anyone who
saw the display would be sure to have
been impressed by the quality of their
artwork and detailed knowledge of the
plot and characters.
