Baylor University Summer Music Camps (254) 710-4211 www.baylor.edu/busmc THE BAYLOR UNIVERSITY SUMMER MUSIC CAMPS High School Band and Orchestra Camp June 16-22, 2013 Band: Grades 9-12 Orchestra: Grades 10-12 PURPOSE OF THE CAMP The Baylor University High School Band and Orchestra Camp offers one week of exciting opportunities to make music in full ensemble and chamber music settings. Camp participants will study under the artistic guidance of the outstanding Baylor instrumental and ensemble faculty. DAILY SCHEDULE Students will participate in large ensemble rehearsals, chamber music sessions, and master class lessons. Students are assigned to a chamber group or instrumental choir that best suits their ability level. Master class lessons are taught by the faculty giving each student the opportunity to receive personal attention. Possible recreational activities include swimming, basketball, volleyball and evening events. HOUSING AND MEALS Camp participants are housed in campus dormitory rooms that sleep two or three students. Roommate requests are taken in advance. All meals are served in university dining halls. COST Residential tuition is $505 and includes all meals, daily activities, and housing. Commuter tuition is $345 and includes lunch and daily activities. Commuters may purchase breakfast and dinner for the week for an additional $50. Students may purchase a CD recording and a camp t-shirt during the week. ELIGIBILITY The camp is open to all woodwind, brass, and percussion students who will enter grades 9-12. String students must enter grades 10-12 in the Fall of 2013 to participate. The deadline for registration is May 31, 2013. Applications must be accompanied by a $100 non-refundable deposit and completed medical and general release forms.
