NATIONAL HONORSOCIETY INDUCTIONS

Once selected for membership in the National Honor Society, the student

must continue to demonstrate those outstanding qualit ies that brought

about his or her selection. He/she should also exert a special influence

upon the school community to improve conditions by promotion of the

qualit ies of Character, Scholarship, Leadership and Service for which the

National Honor Society stands. Students must also earn and maintain a

weighted QPA of at least 4.3 and be active members of at least three

acceptable extra-curricular activit ies. Unselfish devotion typifies the

essential attr ibute of Service, which functions as the foundation upon

which the other characterist ics may be constructed. National Honor

Society members engage in peer tutoring with students who struggle

academically and also serve as assistants at many school functions. If ,

during the senior year, the student is faithful to his/her obligations as a

member of the Society, the student recieves permanent certif ication at

Commencement Exercises.
