India, France commit to boost bilateral trade

India and France committed to increase bilateral trade to 15 billion euro by 2022 and timely relaunching of negotiations on the India-EU free trade agreement. Both the countries also stressed on the importance of

open and inclusive global trade and vowed to work together with all members of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) for an open and inclusive global trade . A joint statement issued after the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron said the two countries stressed on the importance of holding annual dialogue at the ministerial level to deepen cooperation in the economic and financial sector . India and China have been important engines of regional and global economic growth, a top official of International Monetary Fund (IMF) said

today, noting that a strong economic partnership between the two Asian giants would be beneficial. For the past several years, India and China have been important engines of regional and global economic growth. Health sector in India create jobs on massive scale

Healh sector can create jobs on a massive scale, particularly at the level of frontline health workers and others, but training and skilling the job

aspirants is important, Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) President K Srinath Reddy has said. Citing a UN report of September, 2016, he said the report argued that health sector could provide new jobs on a large scale in the global economy, where employment opportunities were shrinking in the technology-driven industry and service sectors . article

India, EU to decide fate of trade agreement India and the European Union will discuss about the resumption of the much-delayed Bilateral Trade and Investment Agreement (BTIA) that hasn’t progressed much over the past five years. Chief negotiators of the two sides will meet in April to explore the possibility and work out some roadmap for the negotiation . For full article

Duty Free Tariff Preference Scheme (DFTP) of Government of India

India announced the DFTP Scheme for Least Developed Countries (LDCs) in the year 2008. In order to expand trade with Africa, India amended its Duty Free Tariff Preference (DFTP) scheme to cover around 96 per cent of the tariff lines in April 2014. Only 1.8% tariff lines are under the exclusion list. Duty Free and Positive Lists cover about 98.2% of global exports of LDCs. Tanzania was the first LDC in Africa to convey its intention to join DFTP in June 2008. All formalities for the Scheme were completed and notified in 2009. *Business Promotion Event in Morogoro ( March 2018) The High Commission of India will be organizing a business promotion

* The 42nd Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (28 June -08 July 2018) The 42st DITF will be held at the Mwalimu J.K. Nyerere Trade Fair Exhibition Grounds located along Kilwa Road in Dar es Salaam on 28 June to 8 July 2018. This is the largest trade fair in Tanzania. The Trade Fair provides exhibition space at the International Hall including Other Hall and an Open Area for outdoor space to display products such as machinery.
