Learn the meaning of the different flags you might see during a MotoGP™ race.
DISQUALIFICATIONRider must enter the pits at the end of the current lap and cannot restart.
SLIPPERY SURFACESurface grip is affected by something slippery on the track, such as rain or oil. Riders must be careful.
CAUTIONStart of the race is delayed. During the race, there is a danger ahead.The riders must slow down and overtaking is forbidden.
RACED STOPPEDThe red flag tells riders that the race has been stopped. They should immediately slow down and go back to the pits.
BIKE CHANGE ALLOWEDThis flag tells the riders that they can change their bikes – in case it starts raining heavily or in a wet race, when the track dries up.
TRACK IS CLEARThe green flag means that the track is clear, either after an earlier incident or together with the green light, meaning that the pit lane exit is open.
FASTER RIDER COMINGDuring a race, this flag tells a rider that they are about to be lapped. They must let the faster rider immediately pass.
CHEQUERED FLAGThe race or practice session is finished.The race winner is the first rider to pass this flag.
MECHANICAL PROBLEMThis flag notifies a rider that they have mechanical problems that can cause danger to themselves or others. He must immediately go back to the pits.
DROPS OF RAINShown as soon as the marshal feels rain drops in the air at their post. Be cautious.
