2007. The 74-year-old was a popular figure in Lower

eswall where he ran the family farm and formerly the

worked hard for his constituents.

Conservative group leader Cllr Jeff Green said: “Peter was an outstanding local councillor who always put the

interests of his constituents first.

group and played a vital role on the Fire and uthority.

“Of course, he was an excellent mayor of irral too and did a huge amount for the

area, gaining respect from everyone who met him.

Pub owners against care home plan

Jug and Bottle pub in Heswall is set to remain a drinking venue for the

foreseeable future after the owners decided against selling to a care home provider.Operators Stange and Co say they are committed to the future of the pub despite

interest from developers TH who want to buy up land around the venue for a 50-bed

extra care home.

Heswall man fined for off-road riding

-year-o man rom an y ane, Heswall, appeared before irral Magistrates

Court charged with driving while disqualified having been stopped whilst riding an ‘off

road’ motor bike near his house. He pleaded guilty and was fined £100 along with

£85 costs and £15 surcharge. He was also disqualified from driving for a further six

months.
