Description (350 words)

We at Hero MotoCorp believe in the power of a strong Community. With our Community Development program, we continually strive to give back to the community that has given us so much. Keeping this in view HMCL has successfully organised a number of CSR activities around its various office and plant locations in Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana & Uttrakhand states of India.

About: Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Formerly Hero Honda Motors Ltd.) is the world's largest manufacturer of two - wheelers, based in India. It has 31 years of excellence in two wheeler mobility solutions with over 70 million two wheelers sold. It has more than 6000 service centres across India.

Hero CSR team have selected around 100 backward villages in Alwar, Jaipur, Rewari and Haridwar Districts for their socio economic development. In these villages, we have carried out a need analysis and identified priority intervention areas like health and hygiene, standard of education, sex ratio, access to safe drinking water for people and animals, ground water level, green belt around public places etc. Hence it was a crying need to consider the poor standard of life in these villages as the criterion for their selection and properly plan for their socio economic development.

After preparing a road map, we started our journey to implement our plan and organised all our CSR activities one by one helping local people to improve themselves.

For health, lots of multispecialty medical camps were organised where thousands of patients were treated and given proper Medicare. Not only humans but we took care of their domestic animals too as lot of farmers depend on such animals for their livelihood. Hundreds of cataract patients were also taken to eye hospitals for surgery and they are now able to see this beautiful world with their own eyes.

We also supported ICDS centres in 7 villages in Jaipur which provides food, preschool education, and primary healthcare to children less than 6 years of age and their mothers.

Hero volunteers from various locations also donated their usable clothes and other accessary to the needy people of community around them. Hero is also running a night rescue mission to save lives of many downtrodden people on roads of Delhi.

For community women empowerment Fruits & Vegetable preservation camps, Tie & Dye workshops, Detergent Making programme are also held regularly across locations.

HIV/AIDS awareness program, De-worming, Immunization & Nutrition awareness program, Adolescent education in Schools, Health & Hygiene etc. are among the other regular activities to increase social awareness among community people.

Water scarcity and decreasing ground water level is crucial problem in villages. Team Hero tried to resolve it by contributing in Water conservation Scheme in Rajasthan. We developed a pond where millions of litres of water stored for human and animal use.
