Harry's Story

Harry Moseley was a lad from a council estate in Sheldon. Diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour at the age of 7, Harry during the face of adversity set an example to all of us that regardless of age, wealth, lifestyle and well being…you really can achieve anything in life if you are passionate!

After meeting a fellow patient named Robert Harley aged 55 during Radiotherapy, an unlikely friendship struck. When Harry heard in 2009 that his friend was very poorly with his cancer Harry embarked on setting up HelpHarryHelpOthers by making beaded bracelets in the hope to help Robert and all people with Cancer.

In the last 2 years of his life Harry organised and attended over 100 events. Harry would do anything from sitting outside supermarkets promoting his bracelets, speaking to businesses or at large corporate events. He raised over £750,000 for other charities before his untimely passing on 8th October 2011. This figure rose to over £1.2million before his mum Georgie decided to continue with Harry’s great work and make HelpHarryHelpOthers a registered charity.

About us

HelpHarryHelpOthers is a small personal cancer charity founded and run by Harry’s mum and supported by a team of Ambassadors and trustees.

It has been structured around the families’ own personal journey and helps adults and children with any type of Cancer, From supporting valuable research projects to offering financial support to families and other amazing Cancer causes it is here to ensure that we make the journey through Cancer as stress free as possible.

Currently research into Brain Tumours makes up just 1% of the national spend on cancer research and yet across the UK, more children and people under the age of 40 die of a brain tumour

than any other cancer.

HelpHarryHelpOthers currently restricts our research pot specifically to brain tumours to give the hope, investment and

immediate attention that this terrible disease requires.

working towards finding a cure for Cancer.

£60, 000 - John Taylor Hospice to provide a bereavement counsellor and St Johns Ambulance service to their patients

£73,000 to fund a 3 year research programme

As well as our HelpCURE, HelpCOPE and HelpCARE funds we always strive to support families where we can. Therefore we have joined forces with some of our amazing supporters who will offer FREE expertise in their field to patients going through Cancer.

How We Give Back

As Harry’s bracelets were designed by him as a ‘thank you’ to all who donated we want to continue this ethos. Therefore as he inspired young people globally we decided the best way to give back would be to continue to inspire young people to do good.

With this in mind we have developed a number of free initiatives for young people using all the tools that Harry created. These include:- • Free Schools Social Enterprise• Free enterprise in Young

Schools Social Enterprise

Harry proved regardless of age, wealth, lifestyle and well-being that we can all achieve anything in life if we are passionate. The schools enterprise project is designed to help teach kids the basics of business whilst raising money for HHHO and their own school funds. The free ‘harrykit’ to schools includes examples of Harry’s presentations, marketing, beads and bracelet making.

InstructionsChildren split into teams for IT, Production, Sales, marketing, Finance and distribution to make and sell a bracelet its business! 50% of all profit is split between HHHO and the school’s own fund.

which increases their own self belief and outlook

• Children learn the basics of business from a primary school age

• Children are empowered as they control their own campaign

• Improves their maths, English, IT skills

• Improves their own social skills including confidence and self belief

Footsteps4harry is a campaign where just by donating your old shoes you can raise money for HelpHarryHelpOthers. Why is this support so important?

• For every pair of your old shoes donated 35p goes to helping families with Cancer

• The actual shoes you donate also go out to families in Africa
