Ollie the OwlSaving Tips

• Think of something you’d like to save for What reward would you like to use your savings for like a new bike, for example. Remember this when you are putting your money away to save.

• How long will it take? Ask an adult to help you figure out how long it will take you to save for your reward.

• Where will the money come from? You could get a gift of money from family for your birthday or even Christmas. You could also ask your parents/guardian if there are regular chores you could do for an allowance or pocket money.

• Investigate If you decide to spend some of your savings or pocket money, keep the receipts. At the end of the year you can investigate where your money went. If you didn’t reach your goal, your parent/guardian might help you understand where your money was spent.
