Hello students, parents, and families!

Welcome to Camp Patriot…our summer programming atMetro Christian Academy. We are very excited about the incredible selection of programs available to all of our Metro and community students and families again this summer in 2021… our 5th summer since relaunching this program! Many of our sessions are brand new and some are repeats, back by popular demand and requested by Camp Patriot campers from previous years. With over 125 unique theme-based camps, a Camp Patriot @ Camp Loughridge session, a week of Kanakuk Kampout, and more than ever High School for Credit virtual courses, Camp Patriot has something for everyoneand every age group!!!

We had another truly amazing summer last year in 2020, actually our BIGGEST & BEST summer yet…with over 1,000 total registrations, hundreds of students participating, and close to an 80% increase in our Camp Patriot session registrations last year over the summer before. To see Camp Patriot grow from about 300 registrations, when

over 1,000 registrations last summer in 2020 is so exciting and overwhelming! We love all the great stories and reports we have heard from students, families, and teachers of their experiences in each summer of Camp Patriot so far. Many lifetime memories have been created; priceless photos taken; new, fun, enriching, and educational experiences had; previous relationships strengthened; and new friendships made! We continue to be humbled, amazed, and beyond words grateful to God for His faithfulness to Camp Patriot and to Metro! We can hardly wait to see how our program will continue to grow this year in 2021!

We would love to have your student/family join us for Camp Patriot and our summer programming at Metro

students, and a true passion in planning and creating a memorable, fun experience for every single camper. The majority of our summer staff is from our very own Metro faculty and staff team. Campers will enjoy a relaxed, supportive, and healthy environment that promotes fun, learning, and personal growth. Our wide range of summer programs provides campers with many choices to gain experience in a variety of areas, as well as potentially introduce them to new things. Learning is a continuous endeavor, and we hope you consider Camp Patriot as the place for your student’s summer learning, growth, development, and fun.

Whether you need summer programming for your student for a half day or a full day, for educational purposes, for enrichment, to expose your student to something new, to get them out of the house, or just for fun…we have something to meet your needs. REGISTRATION & DEADLINESCamp Patriot 2021 registration must be completed and paid for completely online. Visit www.camppatriottulsa.comor www.metroca.com and click on the Camp Patriot link under the “Academics” heading. Please register your camper and select camp sessions based upon the grade he/she is entering in the Fall 2021. Early registration is highly recommended, as camp session sizes are limited and many popular camps do sell out. Please note: registration closes one (1) week prior to the start of each camp session at 9:00 am the Monday before the start of each camp session.

For anywalk-up/day-of registrations, there will be an additional $20 fee per camp session per camper. All walk-up registrations will be handled in a separate line and will be processed only AFTER all pre-registered campers have been checked-in

SUMMER CAMP SCHEDULECamp Patriot will hold weekly sessions beginning Tuesday, June 1 through Friday, July 30. Camp Patriot will beclosed the week of June 28 through July 2 for the Independence Day holiday and our yearly “shut down” week.

COSTCamp Patriot costs vary by session. The average price for each camp session (3 hours per day/5 days per week) is $110. Some camps cost more due to transportation costs, additional supplies costs, etc. Other camps require campers to

CAMP PATRIOT TIMES AND LOCATIONS THIS YEAR

CAMP PATRIOT @ METRO CHRISTIAN ACADEMY: Camp Patriot is offering eight (8) weeks of camp on the Metro Christian Academy campus this summer, which includes our 1 week of Kanakuk Kampout. Campers may enroll in half-day sessions (morning sessions run from 8:30a.m. to 11:30a.m. and afternoon sessions from 12:30p.m. to 3:30p.m.) or select two (2) half-day sessions to create a full day of programming. Please note that some sessions

each session.

CAMP PATRIOT @ CAMP LOUGHRIDGE: Camp Patriot is partnering with Camp Loughridge again this summer to offer one (1) unique week of STEM camp at Camp Loughridge. This camp will take place at Camp Loughridge, which is noted in the Camp Guide. Each morning will be spent with MCA staff doing special programming and each afternoon will be spent with Camp Loughridge staff enjoying many unique outdoor activities, such as swimming, ropes courses, canoeing, ziplining, and more!

FINANCIAL POLICIES• In order to register your camper for any Camp Patriot session, the full amount due for the camp session must be

paid at the time of registration to secure your camper’s spot in the camp session. • Each Camp Patriot session has a $25 non-refundable, non-transferrable portion of the registration fee per session.• After completing the online Camp Patriot registration process for your camper, there will be a link provided to

a Google Form with some required signatures, agreements, and permission forms that must be completed and

• Each camper that registers for at least one regular Camp Patriot session will receive a 2021 Camp Patriot t-shirt (not including Camp Patriot @ Camp Loughridge, Kanakuk Kampout, Kindergarten Boot Camp, or High School for Credit Classes). Camp Patriot t-shirt sizes are guaranteed for all campers that register for at least one camp

• Tuition and other fees (Early Drop-Off, Late Pick-Up, Purchased Lunch, etc.) cannot be pro-rated by the day. • Changes in enrollment will be assessed a $15 change fee per session and must be requested in writing a minimum

• Payments can be made by ACH or credit card. Payments made with a credit card will have an additional 2.95 % fee. Payments made using an ACH (bank account) will have no fee.

• 5occurrence and the camp session spot will be made available to a wait-listed camper.

• The $25 non-refundable, non-transferable portion of each camp session will not be refunded. Any cancellations

EARLY DROP-OFF

LATE PICK-UPLate Pick-Up is offered daily from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm. Late Pick-Up is available by the week only, not available by individual day. The cost for Late Pick-Up is $55 per week. Emergency Late Pick-Up rate is $15 per day. For campers who are in the Late Pick-Up program, a late fee charge of $2.00 per minute (1) for parents picking up starting at 5:01 pm., or thereafter, is assessed and will be added to the camper’s account.

PERSONAL PROPERTYMetro Christian Academy and Camp Patriot are not responsible for loss, theft, or damage of personal items brought to camp. Campers assume full responsibility for any personal items brought to camp and do so at their own risk.

LUNCH TIMEIf a camper is registered for both morning and afternoon sessions in a week, free supervision is provided for the 1-hour lunch break each day, scheduled for 11:30 am – 12:30 pm. There are two (2) options available for lunch time each day:

1. Packed Lunch Option – Bring a packed lunch and drink from home each day. Please keep in mind, refrigeration is not available for camper lunches. Please pack food items that can remain at room temperature.

2. Purchased Lunch Option – Don’t want to pack a lunch? Campers can purchase lunch any week! Metro’s catering service offers different student-friendly hot lunches each day. Purchased Lunch is available by the week only, not available by individual day. (Lunch examples: Bagel Pizzas, Cheeseburgers, Breaded Chicken Sandwich, etc.) The cost for this service is $35 per camper per week. If a camper does not bring a lunch and is staying for both morning and afternoon sessions, lunch will be purchased for $8 per day and parent will be billed.

CAMP POLICY & SUPERVISION

All campers must be enrolled in a program while on Metro’s campus during the summer months (unless campers

monitoring campers outside of the individual camp sessions for which they are registered.

DRESS CODE & DISCIPLINECampers participating in Camp Patriot activities are expected to exhibit appropriate behavior that will not interfere with the educational and enrichment-focused environment, nor distract from our purposes. Campers are expected to follow the Metro “Code of Conduct”. Dress code for Camp Patriot is casual, but conservative and should not cause a distraction. Camp Patriot staff reserve the right to dismiss any camper for inappropriate behavior or attire. No refund will be made to any camper who withdraws or is dismissed from Camp Patriot after the program has begun.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:• All High School for Credit Summer Classes for Camp Patriot’s Summer 2021 will be offered in an Virtual

Learning format only again this summer. • All classes will be offered in 2 different month-long sessions. See the schedule listed above. Any classes

taken in the June session will start on June 1, 2021 and must completed no later than June 25, 2021. All classes taken in the July session will begin on July 6, 2020 and must be completed no later than July 30, 2021. A great benefit of this Virtual Learning format for these classes is that instead of a set 2-weeks or 4-weeks, with 4 or 6 hours per day in a classroom setting, students are now be able to work at their own pace and have an entire month to complete the work for each class.

• 1 credit classes will require a student to be enrolled in both sessions, June and July, as this is a full 1-credit state recognized class and requires 120 hours of instruction time.

• For all ½ credit Bible Classes, approximately 40 total hours of instruction time will be required. For all other ½ credit classes, approximately 60 total hours of instruction time will be required. Depending on the class, students can expect to spend an average 10-15 hours per week per class.

• All classes need a minimum of 5 students for the class to make.• Please check with the high school counselor regarding any scheduling or graduation requirement

questions. • All teachers will contact all registered/enrolled students the week prior to the start of each class with

specific instructions. Each teacher will use a variety of videos, Zoom calls, emails, online assignments, and more for the Virtual Learning format of these classes. Teachers primarily use asynchronous activities with some synchronous activities for these HS for Credit Summer Virtual Classes.

• All teachers will offer weekly office hour times, to be available to students and parents, to answer questions, and to help however needed.

• As stated in the Camp Patriot policies and procedures, registration will close one week prior to the start of each camp session/class, at 9:00AM the Monday before the start of each class.

• We also always offer several other academic enrichment sessions for our High School students each summer, some in-person and some virtual, along with all other Camp Patriot sessions, such as: Metro on Mission Community Service Hours sessions; a Ready, Set, Apply sessions; Sophomore Summer Reading sessions; etc. Be sure to check out the complete Camp Patriot 2021 Guide for these other sessions and opportunities.

In this Personal Finance class we will be utilizing the “Foundations in Personal Finance” curriculum of Dave Ramsey, watching the corresponding DVD’s, and discussing relevant concepts. Students will also use additional hands-on activities and supplementing those with Jr. Achievement and basic economics materials. Outside speakers will also be recruited when possible to talk to the class about insurance, real estate, handling credit, etc. This course is founded on Scripture with all topics taught from a Biblical perspective. SPORT CUP STACKINGExperience the incredible, fast-paced, fun, interactive sport of cup stacking. Although it may sound simple, cup stacking is actually a complex and engaging sport. The goal is to assemble cups in different formations and disassemble them as quickly as possible. This camp will get participants on their feet and competing in a wide variety of relay races and activities. Campers will compete in various challenges including: individual time trials, team relays, cup stacking in many different formations, and more. Cup stacking actually teaches hand-eye coordination,

then get to take them home to keep and continue this great sport on their own!




STORYTIME STEAMLet’s have fun with stories! Each day campers will hear a story and then participate in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) activities that go along with the story. Each story will have a problem that campers will have to think like a scientist to work through the design process to solve. Story-themed art, snacks, and games will be included each day.

SURVIVING 7TH GRADE SUMMER READINGThis reading camp provides an interactive read-

“Holes” by Louis Sachar. Together, students read the book, participate in discussions, and work on the summer assignment while enjoying book-themed snacks. The goal of this course is to guide students through the summer novel while fostering the love of reading. TROLLS WORLD CAMPGet ready for hair in the air and some sparkle as campers enter the wonderful world of the Trolls. Campers will get to dance and sing along to Trolls music every day and enjoy Troll-themed activities, crafts, snacks, dances, and clips from the movie. Campers will learn a fun dance routine to perform for parents, friends, and family on the last day of the camp.

WATERCOLOR PAINTING 101This camp will provide a fun, hands-on, interactive experience for young artists to learn all about the world of watercolor. Campers will explore things like different mediums of water painting, how much water to add and when, what happens when salt is added to the paint, and paint with coffee!




WORLD HISTORY (HS CREDIT)This course will study world cultures and their historic developments using both a chronological and topical approach. Critical and creative thinking skills will be utilized to consider and compare different portions of the world and how they have developed at both divergent rates and differing ways. Special emphasis will be placed on forces and civilizations shaping the world that students will be facing as they reach adulthood. There will also be an added emphasis on

WORLD VIEW (HS CREDIT) During this course, students will evaluate and trace the major world views of theism, deism, naturalism, nihilism, existentialism, pantheism and postmodernism. Students learn the basic questions

from these important questions. World View is an important course to prepare students to more fully understand the Christian faith, defend their faith against opposing world views and witness to others with differing worldviews. The standard of God’s truth is emphasized. (MCA students must have completed Doctrine prior to taking this class.)1/2 Bible Credit; 40 Hours Required; July Session Only.
