Day 1Overnight flight to IndiaBoard your overnight flight to Delhi.

Day 2Explore the capital Welcome to New Delhi—the capital city of India! This city is a fusion of the ancient and the modern.

Day 3Ride in a rickshaw Visit the Jama Masjid or “Friday Mosque”. Rising from the crowded medieval streets of Old Delhi, the Jama Masjid is the largest mosque in India.

Explore the streets of Old Delhi by bicycle powered rickshaw! Visit Raj Ghat Memorial, commemorating great leaders including Mahatma Ghandi, the father of the nation.

Stop at the India Gate War Memorial and pass Parliament as you discover India’s modern political history. Experience the Qutab Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 4Meet local studentsExplore new levels of service learning at Deepalaya Gram, Gusbethi Village. An exclusive day-long program specially designed to build lasting relationships through cultural exchange. Students assist in a variety of roles from teaching English to helping with typing and computer skills.

Day 5Step back in timeLearn about the colonial history of the British Empire during your visit to Shimla, the capital of British India. Stroll through the town to visit Christ Church, Gaiety Theater and the Vice Regal Lodge.

Day 6Shimla & Manali Enjoy a mountain drive and the dramatic scenery of the region.

Day 7Ride a cable car Begin your mountain adventure! Explore rural Manali villages. Here, you will experience the lifestyles of residents in this remote mountainous region. Keep your eyes open for passing yaks! Meet a local family and receive a warm welcome over tea. Ride by cable car to experience the snow and majestic views of the Himalaya Mountains. Enjoy some mountain trekking and try Zorbing!

Day 8Experience white water rafting Drive to Kullu and gear up for your river rafting adventure. White water rafting is all about team work. Prepare to get wet as you cross the river!

Day 9Manali & Dharamsala Visit a local market before departing for Dharamsala. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the region as you cross mountain passes along the way.

Day 10Help a local school Work alongside students in Dharamsala to improve school facilities. Try your hand at cricket, playing a friendly match against students at the school.

Day 11Learn about Tibetan Buddhism Interact with the children of the Tibetan Children’s Village. Participate in an educational workshop at the Norbulinka

ITINERARY

Tibetan Cultural Center. Take a Kora-walk starting at the Dalai Lama’s Temple and learn about the practice of Tibetan Buddhism.

Day 12Understand other cultures Depart the mountains of Himachal Pradesh for the Punjab! Take part in a community service project at the “Golden Temple,” a spiritual and cultural center of the Sikh religion.

Day 13Visit the royal apartments Depart for Agra via Delhi. Embark on an orientation of the medieval city of Agra, visit the Agra Fort and wind your way through the royal apartments.

Day 14Take a selfie at the Taj Mahal before departing Set out on a sunrise visit to the most romantic monument in the world, the Taj Mahal, a lasting impression and memory before heading for home.
