Shabbat Shuva This Shabbat Shuvah, September 19, we will be welcoming the Kehilah into our Bayit to jointly celebrate Ezra
Cohen's Bar Mitzvah. Although there will be no formal derashah, Rosh Kehilah Dina Najman will share some
thoughts on teshuvah after the Haftorah and prior to offering a berakhah to Ezra.

Welcome to our new Rabbinic Interns: Garth Silberstein is a fourth-year rabbinical student at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah, and has
interned with Congregation Kadimah-Toras Moshe in Boston, MA. A California native and
out-door enthusiast, Garth has led Hazon’s Cross-USA bike ride twice, and spent a summer
running Organic Yeshiva, an innovative program combining traditional talmud study with hands-on
experience of sustainable agriculture.
Dan Margulies is a third-year student at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah Rabbinical School. He studied
Chemical Physics and Mathematics at Columbia University, and attended Yeshivat Eretz HaTzvi in
Jerusalem before college. He and his wife Ilana moved to Riverdale four months ago.
Bracha Jaffe moved here from Raanana and is a third year student in Yeshivat Maharat. Last
year she was the rabbinic intern at Rabbi Gelman's shul in Houston where she enjoyed giving
Divrei Torah and teaching all ages. Bracha facilitates Matan Bat-Mitzva programs where her
favorite part is dressing up in costume for each session. She also loves teaching women and girls
to leyn and is an active member of Tefilat Esther.

CITY HARVEST FOOD DRIVE Tuesday September 1st - Wednesday September 30th
Food Needed: All types of kosher canned or nonperishable, sealed
or packaged food are acceptable for collection. Non-kosher food will
not be accepted for this food drive. All food donated must have one of
the following Hashgachot: O-U, O-K, Chof-K, Star-K.
Most Needed Foods: Shelf-stable, Kosher
sources of protein, such as: tuna, salmon,
sardines, peanut butter, beans, soy products.
Collection boxes will be in the coat room.

The 10 days of repentance (Aseret Yemei Teshuva) are a great time

swab, or volunteer at one of the three drives.

THE SHAARE TEFILLAH ADULT EDUCATION COMMITTEE'S Legal Holiday Series continues on Labor
Day, 9/7/2015 at 9:20am, following an 8:15am Selichos and Shacharis. Rabbi Mordechai Willig will provide an overview of the laws
of Shmitat Kesafim (Cancellation of Debts) and Pruzbul. He will then convene a Beit Din to enable everyone in attendance to sign
a Pruzbul. Without a Pruzbul, all debts are cancelled on the last day of the Shmitta year. A light breakfast will be served.

YESHIVAT CHOVEVEI TORAH RABBINICAL SCHOOL is now accepting applications for the 2015 Meorot Modern
Orthodox Leaders’ Fellowship. The Fellowship is for college juniors, seniors, and recent graduates interested in exploring and
grappling with the opportunities and challenges of Orthodox identity and Jewish communal leadership. The program runs for 8
