• Majority of CYP in Gloucestershire (68%) are “confident” about their future (online pupil survey OPS 2008)

But we also know:• “Stress management” is the most important issue that

concerns secondary school age young people (OPS 2008)

• 1 in 10 children & young people have an emotional / mental health difficulty at any one time (ONS 2005)

• Approx 25% of adults will experience a mental health difficulty in their lifetime

Why is Emotional wellbeing anissue for us?

Page 9: Healthy Young Minds Matter: Working together for children in Gloucestershire Simon Bilous, Head of Commissioning Children, Young People & Maternity NHS

• National, Regional & Local Priority:– PSA Targets / PCT Vital Signs

• comprehensive services; early intervention; CiC

– National CAMHS Review

– NHS South West and NHS Gloucestershire Ambitions

– Gloucestershire CYPP

Why is Emotional wellbeing anissue for us?
