Healthcare Objectives, India

• Ensuring health and welfare for India’s vast, billion‐plus population

• Effective execution support for various government health schemes and advances

• Addressing maternal and infant mortality ‐ two of the country’s biggest challenges

• Addressing the decreasing  child female to male ratio issue

• Addressing the region‐specific health needs of people – due to the diverse socio‐cultural groups prevalent in the country

• Reducing the high infant malnutrition and death rates ‐mainly due to lack of awareness and socio‐cultural taboos with respect to adequate breastfeeding  and nutrition

• Reducing the significant communicable disease burden across the country

• Protecting citizens from the dangers of numerous health hazards and diseases posed by increasing urbanization and environment degradation

• Reducing vulnerability to natural disasters due to adverse climatic and geographic conditions

Challenges

• Most of the information lacks geographic intelligence

• Inadequate coverage across citizens, hospitals and other medical facilities leading to

poor health mapping

• Limited understanding of citizen health needs to ensure appropriate health schemes

planning

• Inability to provide timely, consolidated and accurate service information to State

govt. / Central govt. / citizens

• Limited functional integration, leading to heterogeneous process and information sets

• Excessive wastage of manpower, material, time & costs

Geo‐Spatial Technology Enablement

All these challenges along with the demand for highly responsive public health

services led to TMC seeking an advanced technology solution that could:

• Effectively capture, converge and use geographic data

• Gain spatial aspect of population spread, issues, events, outbreaks and facilities

• Manage huge amounts of geographically spread information generated through

incidents and activities on a daily basis

• Ensure the right analytics to make the most effective and immediate use of this

geographically spread information
