    Greetings Friends

I hope that you all had a great start to the year and are busy

    achieving your photographic goals.

Please be reminded that the Club is still without a Secretary and

we are eagerly awaiting a volunteer.

The success of both the Club and this newsletter is dependant

on the contribution of our members. I would like to have more

members contributing to this newsletter and urge you to give me

    your feedback, ideas and suggestions.

Most importantly to want you to share useful articles, links, re-

    views and your stories.

The Club is hosting the PSSA KZN Regional Congress and we are

looking forward to having all our members attend. Full details of

    the congress will follow soon.

Read the Article on the laws governing photographers in South

Africa and stay out of trouble!

Learn how to use your reflector more effectively.

Wishing you fewer words and more exposures.

    REPORT FROM THE CHAIR

    Dear Members

A very warm welcome to you all. I trust you all had a good rest during the

December holidays and that you have returned with loads of interesting

    images.

We have a lot on the agenda for our members this year and hope that the

majority of you will participate in most of the events.

Firstly, I would like to remind you that our club will be hosting the

KwaZulu Natal regional conference and competition prize giving. This will

take place on the weekend of 10th to 12th June 2016 at St Michaels Sands

Hotel. I urge you to please diarize the dates now. Not only will this be an

opportunity to attend the conference and mingle with some very talented

KwaZulu Natal photographers, but we need you there. We would love to see

a large attendance and will also be requesting your kind assistance, such as

packing goodie bags etc. Remember, our reputation is at stake here and it

will not be a success without your input! We will be organizing a number of

exciting photo shoots/workshops and will give you more information once we

    have finalized our plans.

Sue has drawn up a list of anticipated photo shoots and workshops which

will be featured elsewhere in this Shutterbug. Apart from the fun of photo-

graphing with like-minded people, there is always so much that can be learnt

from these outings, so do make an effort to attend.

Our set subject this month is ‘geometric shapes in nature’. This is a wonder-

ful set subject and while searching my images for inspiration, I soon

discovered that nearly every plant and animal has some or other geometric

shape as long as you compose your image accordingly. I have included a

number of examples for you, to give you an idea of what the judges will be

    looking for.

Wishing you many photo opportunities and above all, be safe!
