Libraries save people money! All you smart library patrons know that it’s so
much more economical to use the library for all the books, ebooks, movies,
and games you want, rather than buying them. If you add in the programs,
lectures, classes, museum passes, internet/wi-fi, newspapers, magazines,
reference help or inter-library loan items you use, you’ll understand just what
a bargain your public library is.
To find out how much you or your family save each year by using the library,
go to the New York Library Association website and use the Library Value
Calculator (http://bit.ly/2db2WH4). It’s easy to guesstimate how many items
you borrow each week, how many programs you attend and how much
internet or wi-fi you use. You may be shocked to see how much you’re saving!

We grew up on peanut butter, Wonder bread, and
chocolate chip cookies. Today these “food
groups” can make people sick, or even be fatal.
With the exponential growth of food allergies,
serving basic food dishes has become difficult or
even impossible. Theresa Grimm will demonstrate
how to make gluten-free, nut-free, and egg-free
items that taste delicious and accommodate

Zimmermann returns to talk about
encounters of the “other” kind -
UFOs. The paranormal investigator
and author became interested in
UFO sightings in and around the Hudson Valley.
She began to investigate and found so many
sightings that she wrote 2 books about her

Identity theft is the fastest growing white-collar
crime in America, identified by Congress in
October 1998 as a federal crime. Learn how your
identity can be stolen, ways to protect yourself
from becoming a victim, and what recourse you
have if it happens to you.

Science fiction (or speculative
fiction) is a unique genre that encompasses so
many story types: space adventures; time travel;
aliens; steampunk post-apocalyptic dystopias;
virtual reality; and so much more! Science fiction
is where imagination can create the future, it’s
amazing what is out there, and the possibilities are
endless. So whether you are more Star Wars and
Star Trek or more Ready Player One, we’ve got you
covered! Just stop by the Reference desk and
we’ll show you where to find them.

viewing some amazing art or sculpture, or
exploring the beautiful Hudson Valley? Check out
a museum pass! We currently have passes to the
American Museum of Natural History, Boscobel
House and Gardens, the Edward Hopper House,
the Guggenheim, the Hudson Highlands Nature
Museum, the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum,

Collection, and the Museum at Bethel Woods.
With the pass admission to the museums is free,
