What is Project LEED? So our hotel is as environmentally friendly and energy efficient as possible, we're earning LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED is the proven rating system that helps builders find sustainable solutions for building design, construction, and maintenance. Reaching for Gold The Hilton Garden Inn won’t just be LEED-certified; we anticipate reaching LEED Gold Status. Our staff is proud of our environmentally-responsible efforts, and we want people to learn how LEED building projects make tomorrow brighter. To spread the word, you’ll find highlights of our innovative building design throughout the hotel. Self-Guided Educational Tours While working with our LEED AP, we saw a great way to teach people about the environmental and economic benefits green buildings provide. We created this brochure as an easy-access guide guests can use whenever you feel like taking an educa- tional stroll through the Hilton Garden Inn. The brochure and correlating posters in the hotel offer insight about our innovative building design and renewable energy practices. Have a question about our building? Great. Just drop by the front desk and ask us. Our staff and management believe green building practices are crucial to our futures, and we relish the chance to show others what a huge impact LEED-certified buildings make. 4155 South Nature Center Way Springfield, Missouri 65804 tel: 417-875-8800 fax:417-875-8801 springfieldmo.hgi.com and we want people to learn how LEED building projects make tomorrow brighter. When planning the Hilton Garden Inn, we wanted the hotel to surpass the latest green building practices. Our architects let us know that earning LEED (Leadership in Energy and Envi- ronmental Design) certification would ensure our construction techniques did just that. Since 2000, when the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) launched LEED, the system has helped builders find proven, sustainable solutions for building design, construc- tion, and maintenance. LEED buildings better protect the local and global environment while reducing expenses and the use of natural resources. What good does exceeding LEED requirements do? It lets the Hilton Garden Inn provide a healthier and safer stay for guests, make a seriously positive impact on the environment, and even increase savings for the hotel budget. Green Building Education To ease the certification process, construction project leaders can become LEED-Accredited Professionals (APs), who will educate other project members and ensure green design elements meet LEED requirements and are implemented properly.
