This year our sale heifers stayed out in the pasture longer than ever – we brought them home October 11, preg. tested, took pictures and then put them out again to bale graze. These girls are in good shape and while not in show condition, are going to go into their new homes in their working clothes. They have always been on a total health program and will have received the first shot of scourquard before sale date. There were no walking bulls in the heifer pasture and no neighbouring bulls either. We tried to provide a cross selection of the replacement heifers in our program- reds, blacks and fullbloods.

Glenn selected a good group to represent our herd. Thank you for your support. Heifers can be viewed at any time or call for more infor-mation

Welcome to our 16th annual Harvest Hoedown Sale. Once again harvest is over but not without a challenge. We feel Transcon has selected the most uniform, functional set of heifers that we have ever brought to this sale.

As in the past, the “Vegas” females continue to impress all and this year is no exception. The majority of the heifers are bred AI to ‘Hugo’ and ‘Exodus’ both homozygous polled, full fleck bulls. Other service sires are our own red factor, homozygous polled ‘IPU Accelerator 53R’ which has done an excellent job on his first set of calves; and our latest black herdsire, ‘ACS BlackJack 758T’ the homozygous polled bull we purchased out of the Windmill dispersal sale last year. All heifers have been treated with Dectomax and vaccinated with Bovashield, Ultrachoice and have had a vitamin shot.Thank you in advance for attending our sale and we wish you all the best with your purchases. Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions.

No exposure. PT safe to AI date.Full Fleckvieh “Fancy Girl” is a BEAUTY! Definitely our Sale Feature. She is backed by a great set of EPD’s and a proven pedigree. Her Laredo mother has done it again. “Paso 26P” produced our high seller in our 2007 sale that went to Kopp Farms. Here is a moderate framed, well balanced female with lots of eye appeal. You can look forward to a polled, full fleck “Exodus” calf. Opportunity knocks here!

His pedigree will complement our “Warrior” heifers. He is a very smooth made, nice headed, good tempered individual. He carries that extra rib and quarter that is needed in the beef industry. “53U” exceeded our expectations this spring by going out and settling a large group of females while maintaining his body condition.

A top end heifer off our Trustin bull that really should not be leaving the farm, but trying to follow the great success of his sons at our spring sale, we decided to bring her to town. This is the kind that can raise those great bull calves! Her dam 40S is a moderate framed, solid black cow that has done a great job and comes from a great cow family. Her pedigree traces back to RAV Miss Steele 58R which was actually my first 4-H heifer at the ripe age of ten years old, just proving that 60W comes from a cow family that has been around the farm awhile. Welcome to the Harvest Hoedown Sale! We are constantly working on improving our herd. Our cattle are kept on the basis of their fertil-ity, mothering ability, soundness of feet, legs and udder and of course their performance! These cows aren’t kept because they are pretty, polled or to make numbers-they are kept because they are sound, efficient and are the cornerstone of our operation. We have worked on combining these traits in our cowherd and matching them with some of the best bulls we can raise or access anywhere. We purchased a new bull, Black Belt, this spring. We expect that he will add some outcross genetics and compliment our herd bull battery. Feel free to stop

by the farm to view these heifers, their cow families or just for a visit.Calvin and Donna

Her sire Surge is doing a good job for us here at the farm. He’s leaving them all red and polled with lots of thickness. Rusty’s dam had a very successful show career and now is one of our front line females. Bred to the reliable, red Winchester bull. Great results will happen when you assemble great lineage like you have here in Rusty!

Lots of muscle, shape and maternal power here. The Karlson females add a lot of jam to their calves and milk extremely well. CDP Goldie is bred to the homozygous polled Red Label bull. We have no doubt you will be impressed with this heifer’s look and overall balance. If you’re serious about the cattle industry, check this heifer out; all the signs point to this female being a great cow!

In fact, we retained one of the sons for ourselves. There is a great deal of volume and capacity in this female. She stems from a highly productive cow family. Bred early to Hugo – a newer, upcoming sire that has a real neat look to him...loads of pigmentation, nice deep coat color and oodles of thickness. Miss Laredo is an excellent example of a female that can be used in every aspect of the industry.

Preg tested safe to natural breeding.A real deep, soggy tank of a heifer! Whitney is a beautiful replacement heifer from the heart of our herd. We love her rib shape, overall volume and her correctness of structure. She is very broody in her look. Whitney is sired by our heterozygous black herdsire, “811” and her dam is a daughter of “Mallory”, a cow who made quite an impact in our herd and had many outstanding progeny. Best of all, Whitney is safe in calf to “House” our homozygous polled, homozygous black herd sire. The House progeny still dominate both our show string and our bull sales. It is females of this caliber that will keep the Simmental breed going strong.
