HARDWARE CASE STUDY

BackgroundOur partner needed to support their customer in Germany with a high availability IBM I-Series solution capable of running an legacy version of the OS to support their existing applications. The customer requested Procurri design two solutions to support both the production and DR environments, which would be hosted in datacentre’s within Germany.

This was a time sensitive project with extremely tight deadlines that was initially being run out of the US. With Procurri’s global presence, our EMEA team liaised with both our partners project team in the US and Europe to understand the requirements and put forward a viable solution.

SolutionOur partner chose Procurri’s offering due to its flexibility to meet critical deadlines, internal technical capabilities around the IBM product line and internal engineering skill set to support the solution locally both at initial installation stage and ongoing support.

Business OutcomeProcurri delivered the production solution to Germany within three working days of receiving the purchase order from our partner. The engineer provided onsite installation and support for the following two days to ensure the software migration was complete and the solution was live and stable.

This was followed by the DR solution into a secondary site, and Procurri provided ongoing assistance in the form of both hardware and software support for the solution.

Through having large volumes of datacentre hardware in stock at its regional facilities and strong internal technical resource, Procurri has the scope to be nimble and flexible for our partner, enabling project deadlines to be met. In this instance our customer saved in excess of €2 Million by looking at a P7+ solution versus the latest technology from the OEM.
