Racing is every Wednesday evening beginning March 11 and continuing through October 28, 2015,” said Commodore Tina Roberson. First class starts are at 1800 and the Notice of Race is available at the AYC office or on the web site at anacapayachtclub.com. “Come on out and sail with your old friends and maybe make some new friends. Don’t miss out on all the fun!” said Roberson. After the race be sure to come to join your fellow racers for the famous Anacapa Yacht Club Wet Wednesdays cook-it-yourself (just the way you like it!) barbeque featuring savory steaks, hamburgers, Italian sausages, chicken breasts and turkey burgers with all the fixings—plus barbequed beans and salad with choice of dressings. Not only is the food delicious, but also you can’t find better company than your fellow racers. It’s a great chance to get reconnected with sailing friends, make new ones and swap some tall sailing yarns. Trophies are awarded after each race and the races will be scored for the Wonderful Wet Wednesdays Series Perpetual Trophy, which is awarded at the last race of the series in October. “We will continue our AYC tradition of drawing for crew prizes, so even if things don’t work out on the race course, there is still a good chance of coming out a winner. See you on the water!” said Roberson. More yacht club and racing information can be found on the web at anacapayachtclub.com. Or, contact Gene Beville, 2015 Race Committee Chairman at 805-469-9549.
