God's work through Tiny Hands is not possible without you. Thanks to your generosity, together we are being the kingdom to those who need help the most.

The ministry highlights featured in this newsletter are just a few examples of how God is changing lives. God is working through you to provide physical, emotional, economic and spiritual freedom.

Almost immediately after the earth-quake, several of our Tiny Hands staff got on scooters and drove throughout Kathmandu to check on each of our children’s homes. Our staff found everyone safe and secure.

Each family was thrilled to see the staff and relieved to know that Tiny Hands was committed to taking care of their needs. They were also able to bring encouragement as well as food, water and money. All of the children were sleeping outside due

to fears being produced by rumors of additional aftershocks and earth-quakes. Our staff was also able to share correct information with them to combat those fears.

In many of the remote villages we accessed, we found the majority of the homes totally destroyed by the earthquake. In turn, we found people living and sleeping outside without roofs, mats, blankets and—in many cases—food. Tiny Hands was equipped and able to distribute blankets, tarps, mattresses, rice, noodles, biscuits, and medical sup-plies to these families in need.

When a Tiny Hands team arrived in a village in the more heavily damaged district of Sindhupalchowk, we dis-covered we were the first ones to

reach that village with relief supplies. We also learned that this was a village where Christians were regu-larly persecuted. When the villagers found out the relief supplies were from a Christian organization, they were able to see, that in times of hardship, Christians seek to provide help to all who need it.

We later learned that the persecu-tions toward Christians in this village have lessened. With God’s grace, we were able to show the love of Christ to this village and hearts were moved.Nepal

In the village of Majhhi Gaun, the need for food and relief supplies was quickly becoming desperate. The villagers had not yet received any aid because the roads leading to their village had become impassible. Tiny Hands was able to make contact with this village and arranged for two small boats to deliver the much needed supplies. When the aid ar-rived, the villagers were encouraged, relieved, and filled with hope. They saw the heart of God through the relief aid provided by Tiny Hands.

Tiny Hands was also the first organi-zation to distribute relief supplies to Kavre, Bankhu. The trip to reach this village proved to be very challenging. Traveling to the village itself was very difficult, but then, several miles away from the village, the delivery truck broke down. In spite of the truck not being able to reach them, the villagers walked up to three hours to gather and carry the supplies back to their village. Everyone was grateful for the supplies from Tiny Hands.

Martha Highland’s second grade class at Briarglen Elementa-ry School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, answered the call to help provide relief supplies for those in need in Nepal. The students hosted an “awareness-raising” event at their school. The evening included booths where they sold bracelets, origami figures, and candy, as well as a concert and a poetry reading presentation. The class raised $430 dollars for Nepali earthquake victims.

“I actually gave them the opportu-nity to select from various orga-nizations to choose where they wanted to send the money that they raised,” said Mrs. Highland. “They hand selected Tiny Hands because they liked what you were doing for Nepal.”

Courtney Caron, one of the members of this year’s Tiny Hands Vision Team hosted a 5K walk/run in response to the $150,000 Nepal Earthquake Matching Challenge. The event raised almost $5,000 (including the matched amount) for Tiny Hands’ long-term recovery efforts in Nepal.

“I’d never organized a 5k be-fore, and it came together in two weeks!,” said Courtney. “It was definitely 100% a God thing!”

God answered some big prayers for Courtney! The weather was perfect and many generous friends, family members, and local companies participated as well as donated snacks, tents, water and parking.

The Tiny Hands Vision Team is geared towards college students and young professionals who have a desire to jump in with both feet and get their hands dirty. This team travels for six weeks during

the summer, from June to late July, gets immersed in Nepali culture and works side by side with our staff on the ground.

Most people in the earthquake-affected areas of Nepal are still sleeping outside, and they will continue to do so through the monsoon season this summer. This lack of protection makes women and children easier prey for traffickers.

Tiny Hands is responding with a program to provide relief supplies to areas with an increased risk of human trafficking. We will also be promoting trafficking aware-ness and surveying residents to deter-mine if traffickers have visited the area – and if possible—arrest and prosecute them. • • •

You can help prevent a second tragedy of increased human trafficking by do-nating to our anti-trafficking work. Every $100 helps prevent one woman or child from being trafficked.

BE THE KINGDOMAll our work is done in conjunction with local churches and we strive to live our faith in Jesus Christ and His gospel by following the directives of the New Testament in how we live, work, and relate to one another.

HELP THOSE WHO NEED IT MOSTJesus said, “whatever you do for the least of these, you do for me.” In response to this teaching, our goal is to find and help the most desperate and needy people in the world.

DO MUCH WITH LITTLEWe strive to find and implement the strategies that make the greatest possible difference in the lives of as many people as possible with the limited resources we have been entrusted with.

Tiny Hands is driven by three core values that shape every program and management

decision we make.
