Hamelia Lime Sizzler
An attention grabber in the landscape, Hamelia ‘Lime Sizzler’ stands out. With two toned leaves of Gold and Green and sizzling red orange flowers, this heat loving tropical shrub is visually stunning. Use as an accent plant or in mass plantings for the greatest impact
of color. Semi-woody, mounding in habit and hardy to zone 9, the plant is a southern perennial and can be used as a summer annual in the north.

Lead Time - 12 weeks
Height and Spread - 4’-5’ H 4’-5’ W
Planting - 1 quart, 1 gallon or 6” up to 5 gallon. Lime Sizzler also shows really well in a ready-to-use patio container. Planting time is best in mid spring for summer and fall sales. Or transplant in Fall for spring sales in the South.
Media - Well drained mix with Bark or Coir. Doesn’t respond well to oversaturation.Considered to be drought tolerant.
Fertilization - Maintain pH between 5.8-6.3. Target an EC of 1.5-2.0. Constant liquid feed with a Cal Mag fertilizer should be adequate.
Temperature - Responds best when temperatures are above 64°F. Heat loving plant that really starts growing with warmer nights. For southern outdoor growers the plant will shut down when nights are averaging below 55°F. Leaves will show more green color and less gold when grown cooler or with less light. You may also see some physiological red spotting at lower temperatures.
Light - Maximize light for best leaf color contrast.
Pinching - The liners will arrive pre-pinched.Sheer as needed.
Growth Regulation - responds well to water stress or a B-Nine application at 2500 ppm.
