Congratulations grade 6 students for raising $400.00 for the victims of the tsunami in Indonesia. It all start-

ed with our Social Studies program on natural disasters. No better way to teach than with current events. And it was all excitement and enthusiasm from then on. Students wrote invitations, visited coffee shops to

request for coffee and hot chocolate donations, we had a presentation from Shelterbox (an organization which provides temporary shelter and various other equipment to places suffering from natural disasters),

and of course the baking. A collaborative effort where the students and their parents baked and the staff

and parents made a donation to the cause. It was fun to see the reaction of staff as students begged, co-erced, convinced the adults why their item was the better choice.

Thank you to Starbucks (Dundas) and The Good Neighbour (Annette) for their donation of great coffee and

hot chocolate. And a special thank you to parents, staff and students for your generosity and support for this very important cause.

Reporting Traffic Concerns Parents have reported concerns with cars making right/left turns from Annette onto Eve-lyn during restricted periods noted on signage that is posted. Officer Janet has provided the following website where parents can report a traffic complaint. This on-line reporting will keep track of complaints and a profile will be completed alerting police as to areas that need to be monitored for safety. Your assistance in this process will ensure pedestrian safety at the crosswalk on Evelyn and Annette.
