of material will be considered for publication in the Journal.1.2. Nomenclature should be followed. www .sp2444.org and www.fishbase.org websites may bechec;ed for nomenclature. !hemical nomenclature should follow the #nternational Union of $ureand Applied !hemistry (#U$A!) definitive rules for nomenclature. No trade name should beused and #ndustrial products should be referred to by their chemical names (give ingredients inparentheses) at first mention. #n the absence of a common name' use the full name or a defined

statistical models should be described clearly and fully. !alculations and the validity of

deductions made from them should be chec;ed and validated by a statistician. :hen possible'

results of similar eperiments should be pooled statistically. 0o not report a number of similar

eperiments separately. Units of measurement' symbols and standard abbreviations should

conform to those recommended by the #nternational Union of %io5!hemistry (#U%) and the

#nternational Union of $ure and Applied !hemistry (#U$A!). Metric measurements are

preferred' and dosages should be epressed entirely in metric units (# units). #n eceptional

numbered serially at the right5hand side in parentheses. #n general only e7uations eplicitly

referred to in the tet need be numbered. The use of fractional powers instead of root signs is

recommended. $owers of e are often more conveniently denoted by ep. #n chemical formulae'

valence of ions should be given as' e.g. !a2G' not as !aGG.#sotope numbers should precede the

symbols' e.g. 18&. The repeated writing of chemical formulae in the tet is to be avoided where

be made in case of a very long name occurring very fre7uently or in the case of a compound

being described as the end product of a gravimetric determination (e.g. phosphate as $2&3).

    3. The "*UT AN0 0#!U#&N should preferably be combined to avoid repetition.

"esults should be presented in tabularform and graphs when feasiblebut not both. The colourfigures and plates' are printed when information would be lost if reproduced in blac; and white.Mean result with the relevant standard errors should be presented rather than detailed data. Thedata should be so arranged that the tables would fit in the normal layout of the page. elf

eplanatory tables should be typed on separate sheets and carry appropriate titles.

The tabular matter should not eceed 24H of the tet. Any abbreviation used in a table must bedefined in that table. $aginate the tables in series with the tet. All tables should be cited in thetet. #f an eplanation is necessary' use an abbreviation in the body of the table (e.g. N0) andeplain clearly in footnotes what the abbreviation means. "eferences to footnotes in a table arespecified by superscript numbers' independently for each table. uperscript letters are used to

designate statistical significance. Use a lower case $ to indicate probability values (i.e. pI4.43).#n general' use numerals. :hen two numbers appear ad+acent to each other' spell out the first. #na series using some numbers less than 14 and some more than 14 use numerals for. 0o not begina sentence with a numeral. pell it out or rearrange the sentence. Abbreviate the terms hour (hr)'minute (min.) and second (sec.) when used with a number in the tet but spell them out whenthey are used alone. 0o not use a hyphen to indicate inclusiveness (e.g. use 12 to 16 mg or w; and 6 not 12516 mg or w; 56). Use Arabic numerals with abbreviated units of measure= 2 g' 3 d'6.44' H and numerical designations in the tet= ep 1' group ' etc.

The !onclusion section' should not be of more than one paragraph after the discussion and e5plain in general terms the implications of findings of this research on animal husbandry.Abbreviations' acronyms' or citations should not be used here.Though some speculation is permitted' this section should also caution the reader against overetrapolation of results. Bor manuscripts with direct applications' this section will consist of an

interpretive summary. #f results have no implications' this should also be stated. A recent issue of the +ournal should be consulted for the methods of citation of "eferences inthe tet as well as at the end of the article. "eference citations in the tet are typed as follows=%lac; (1L1) or (%lac; 1L1)> 0ic;erson et al. (1L6) or (0ic;erson et al. 1L6)> mith andJones (1L) or (mith and Jones 1L). -roups of references cited in a sentence in the tet mustbe listed in chronological order as in the previous sentence. "*B*"*N!* lists should be typedin alphabetical order. The reference list should be first sorted alphabetically by author(s) and se5condly chronologically.
