Ministry Description Guadalajara is a Roman Catholic city of 6 million with an evangeli- cal populaon of about 1%. MTW missionary Kenton Wood has been working there since 1996. Kenton and his wife Karen had a vision to start a church that would mature and start daughter churches. Kenton connued this ministry aſter Karen died in 2012. He is now remarried to Adriana. We rejoice that God has been calling many to Himself. Now more than 20 years later, the mother church, Rey de Reyes (King of Kings), has seven daughter churches both inside and outside the city. There are three opportunies this summer to work alongside some of these daughter churches. Projects Overview These projects are suitable for all ages and include a wide variety of ministry opportunies. Each has been developed in close cooperaon with the Naonal Presbyterian Church of Mexico, ensuring there will be follow-up aſter the teams have leſt. You would arrive on Saturday, work during the week, and leave the following Saturday. Direct, daily round-trip flights from major U.S. cies are usually between $500 and $700 per person. David and Elvira Ramirez reach Purépecha Indians in the town of Tarecuato. Tarecuato is about three hours outside Guadalajara. The Purépecha are essenally an unreached people group and this Mexican mission- ary couple is reaching out to them. There is a metal building on the edge of town that they use for church services, chil- dren´s ministry, medical aenon, and counseling. They have an average Sunday aendance of 35 adults plus children. How you can help: Medical and dental bri- gades, VBS, teach English, computer classes, craſts, sports, light construcon. Cost and details: Teams are needed this summer (mid-July to the end of August) or year-round. Cost is approximately $610$690 per person, plus airfare to Guadalajara. We will pick you up and we will drive three hours to Tarecuato. You will stay in cabins near town.

Option 2: Rey de Reyes Church

You will assist Rev. Armando and Lady Cuevas reach a large, gated community in the city of Tlajomulco (suburb of Guadalajara). Tlajomulco is a rural commu-nity on the south side of the city, booming with low income gated housing. The Roman Catholic church dominates the community and there are no evangelical churches in this area. Armando and Lady moved into one of these gated com-munities that has a population of 25,000. They got started with prayer gather-ings for stay-at-home moms, then marriage courses. Four years later they have two services with a total attendance of 85 adults and 25 children. They rent the second floor of a small shopping center. How you can help: VBS, crafts, music, teach English to adults and children, share with women/men. Cost and details: Cost is approximately $660–$740 per person , plus airfare to Guadalajara. We will pick you up and drive you 30 minutes to the ministry area. You will stay in a hotel.

Option 3: Rey de Reyes Church, Rebalsito

You will assist Rev. Heriberto and Arely Mesa reach Rebalsito, a town on the Pacific coast. This is a town of about 1,200 on the bay of Tenacatita, a six-hour drive from Guadalajara. The economy is based on coconut plantations, cattle, and fishing. The town is traditionally Roman Catholic and there are many extended families. But there is also strife and despair. The people need hope! Three years ago a hurricane hit the coast and the mother church sent some people with food and water and to help with cleanup. The people were impressed and asked if we would put a church in their town.

How you can help: VBS, teach English, light construction, medi-cal, dental. Cost and details: Cost is approximately $650–$730, plus airfare to Guadalajara. We will pick you up and drive you six hours to the coast. You will stay in a hotel.
