GSSA Members, Our 2017 GSSA annual meeting and banquet was a huge success. Thank you members for all the donations and support. We raised over $10K for GSSA and can now begin further promotion of the breed we all raise. This year our main project to promote SimGenetics will be presenting programs at local cattlemen’s chapter meetings. We feel this will be educational for the purebred cattle producer; as well as, the commercial cattlemen. SimGenetics are known for their ability to produce a more uniform calf crop. Maximizing profit is clearly a necessity in any beef herd. Adding SimGenetics to a crossbred herd provides superior performance, efficiency and positive carcass traits. GSSA Annual Meeting & Banquet Auction Results Thank you GSSA members and member Associates for all Donations. Also, information from the 2017

7th annual Generations of Value Sale.

GSSA hosted the 7th annual 2017 Generations of Value Sale on August 26, 2017 at Partisover

Sale Facility in Colbert, GA. GSSA would like to offer a huge thank you to Randy & Beth Daniel for

such an awesome facility. Sale Consignors were 4C Legacy Farms, AK/NDS Simmentals, Bourg Farms,

C&C Farms, Center Post Simmentals, Elrod Farms, Freeman Cattle Co., Dave Greenhorn, Harroun

Cattle Co., MBK Cattle, Mewborn Farm, Oleo Ranch, Rocking Hill Farms, Sand Family Genetics, Shady

River Farms, Sunset View Farm, Tennagia Farm, TX Enterprises, Tylertown Simmentals, Wasdin Cattle

Co., Dean Wittrig and Woodlawn Simmentals. Sale Consultants and Managers were DP Sales; Doug

and Debbie Parke, Drew and Holli Hatmaker from Paris, KY. Our auctioneer was Mr. Tommy Carper

and sale staff was Todd Alford, Chad Stansberry and Alex Tolbert. From the sale alone GSSA gained

nine new member families. There were 46 lots in the 2017 Generation of Value Sale and the average per lot was $2,445.
