UK Doorsets GRP doors are Manufactured from Thermoset GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester), the doors are compression moulded to give a high-definition panel design with the character of timber. The stiles and rails are composed of water-resistant polymer which is bonded to the skin and filled with an insulating core of 100% CFC-free polyurethane. UK Doorsets GRP composite doors combine the look and feel of wood with excellent weather resistance and durability. GRP doors will not crack, warp, dent or splinter plus they still retain the pleasing aesthetics of real wood.

UK Doorsets offer a wide range of door hardware ensuring each door meets the full requirements of ‘Secure by Design Homes 2016’.All our hardware options are available in many finishes to compliment our doors: Satin, Mirror Polished, Gold, Silver Anodised, Black & White.

With the highest security Kitemark, the Kinetica utilises all of the security features of our other cylinders. These include anti-pick and anti-drill features as well as the patented timing pin system, which is highly effective against bumping. The Kinetica is Secured by Design approved and incorporates an anti-tilt mechanism which makes it more effective than other anti-snap cylinders against lock snapping. Full keyed alike and master suite services are available.

This 1* BSI Kitemarked Cylinder contains security features that will protect against lock snapping, bumping, picking and drilling. It uses hardened steel anti-drill pins and 3 anti-pick pins on either side of the cylinder. The sacrificial cut lines provide a challenge for any lock snappers and the unique, patented timing pin system will provide the ultimate defence against bumping. It is Secured by Design approved and comes with 800,000 different key combinations.

The UK Doorsets standard security front door handle has a 243mm long backplate, and is aimed at the fabricator who wants to offer a high quality designed front door handle. Each front door handle is made from 316 grade stainless steel, and is part of the Nanocoast range.Our High Security Door Handles are Secured by Design approved and are ergonomically shaped and designed to withstand handle and cylinder snapping. They are also drill resistant and incorporate attack resistant self-adhesive tabs for extra strength. Combining a 2* door handle with a 1* cylinder will give you the 3* door security needed to get a PAS24 door.

Door KnobsThe UK Doorset Door Knob has a very contemporary design and has been produced to a very high standard. It has hidden fixings which means internal fixings are not visible, creating a much cleaner and smoother look on the inside of the door.There are 6 finishes available: polished brass, polished chrome, satin chrome are made from brass - PVD gold, mirror polished and satin stainless steel are made from 316 grade stainless steel.

Our cylinders comply to TS007, for example by combining our 2 star high security handle with the 1 star Zero Lift cylinder or our standard handle with the Kinetica 3 star cylinder will both achieve the TS007 standard. TS007 ensures your door is fully protected to meet the highest standards in protecting your home.

Nanocoast products are made from 316 grade stainless steel, and are specifically designed for areas which are within a 25 mile radius of the coast, or within 5 miles of highly populated industrial areas. Unlike brass and zinc based products, the Nanocoast products will not pit, rust or corrode no matter what environments you put them in. This means that the products will last longer and every Nanocoast product comes with a lifetime coating guarantee!

Nanocoast viewers give a crystal clear performance and are tested to DHF TS002:2009 standards for door viewers. This tests angle of vision, visual clarity, resistance to misting and ability to clear after misting. Viewers within the Nanocoast range are made from 316 grade stainless steel and come with a lifetime coating guarantee. Plus, we have our very own selection of Secured by design approved viewers.

UK Doorsets numerals and letters are 3” high, designed in the classic Times Roman font, and available with two different fixing methods; screw fix and self-adhesive.Our 6” and 8” Victorian and Victorian Slimline door knockers are available as bolt fix or hidden fix and offer a colour matched option for a complete and attractive finish.

We supply three styles of pull handles including straight, offset and D shaped. With a stainless steel coating, the pull handle range has been made with quality and performance in mind. There are 3 different fixing methods available – hidden fixings, bolt through and back to back fixings. All of which offer an extremely strong fixing method.

UK Doorsets High Security 2* Kitemarked Escutcheon comes in 3 finishes – PVD Gold, Mirror Polished and Satin Stainless Steel. It has been designed to match the pull handle range in order to give perfect co-ordination to your front door. The bevelled edge makes it much more difficult to grip the escutcheon with pliers in order to pull it off. Another security feature is the high tensile strength fixing bolts which secure the escutcheon to the door.

They are also drill resistant and incorporate attack resistant self-adhesive tabs for extra strength.Combining a 2* door handle with a 1* cylinder will give you the 3* door security needed to get a PAS24 door.

UK Doorsets Door Warranties

Handling & Care of Doors

UK Doorsets come complete with an extensive range of warranties. To ensure these warranties are maintained for the duration of the guarantee period it is essential that

good housekeeping and basic maintenance procedures are carried out in line with our published recommendations.

Doors are manufactured to the moisture content level required by the British Standard BS EN 952. Conditioning doors to the prevailing climatic conditions is essential, and they should not be subject to abnormal heat, extreme dryness, humid conditional or sudden changes temperature or humidity. Use a dry, well ventilated building, hanging or storage in a new building should be delayed until plaster, cement, or other wet construction is dry.Special care must be taken when central heating is used in a building for the first time. The testing and the rapid switching on and off of heating during construction is detrimental to joinery. Do not store or install in an area that may be subject to extremes of temperature. It is essential that precautions are taken where there is a risk of moisture content build—up.

Under no circumstances should exterior doors be used in interior locations and vice versa.

FinishingDecoration of doors should be carried out in accordance with the BS Code of Practice BS6150: 1982. It is essential that doors are fully sealed and any air gaps plugged, immediately after delivery. They should be sealed, knotted and primed on both faces and all four edges. The doors should be given further coats of finish within a reasonable period.

Doors should always be stored and handled as recommended in BS 8000-5: Workmanship on Building Sites Part 5: Code of Practice for Carpentry, Joinery and General Fixings.

Doors should be stored flat and on top of three equal-thickness bearers along the door length to evenly distribute weight and avoid damage. Do not store anything else on top of doors.

Always use a storage area that is dry, well ventilated and has not been recently plastered.

It is essential that precautions are taken to prevent moisture build up within the doors, particularly within centrally heated and/or air conditioned buildings.

Doors should be kept clean and dry, and inside the original packaging until immediately before applying finish. It is important to keep packaging material on the door for as long as is practically possible to help prevent surface damage. This is particularly relevant for fully finished products.

Doors should be handled carefully to avoid physical damage and to keep them clean. They should not be dragged across each other or other surfaces.

Fire DoorsFD30 and FD60 fire rated doors are complaint with British Standards and are third party certificated under the IFC-Certifire Scheme. Fire doors must be kept in good structural repair. Ironmongery, in particular hinges, door closers and latches must be maintained in correct working order. Intumescent and smoke seals must be correctly positioned and unbroken to ensure for compliance with test certification, and for effectiveness. Damage or missing seals must be replaced immediately.

10 year warranty on all factory finished doorsets against manufacturing defects, unless otherwise stated.

5 year warranty on all furniture, locks and other factory fitted ironmongery on our doors and windows against manufacturing defects.

10 year warranty on factory glazed door and window units.

UK doorsets warrant that in the course of normal use, the surface finish of our pre-pigmented, solid colour doors will not blister, crack, chip, flake or peel, for a period of 10 years.

UK doorsets fibreglass door is guaranteed free from defects in material, or workmanship that might unreasonably affect its performance. The terms of the limited warranty extend from the first date of purchase for 25 years and guarantees the structural system of the door in which directly attributable to defective manufacturing of the unit. The warranty is for the original users(s) and is non-transferable.

Door Installation Guide Door WarrantiesMany problems experienced today with fabricated doorsets can be due to incorrect installation. Below are a few tips to enhance the operation and performance of the doorset thereby helping to promote years of trouble free operation.

Installation Tips

• Check aperture size against the doorset. It is recommended that there be a 5mm gap all the way around to enable correct installation.

• Place a 5mm packer beneath both sides to lift the frame. (it may be beneficial to remove the door from the frame to enable the first side to be fixed).

• Using suitable fixings, fix the hinge side of the doorset first. Ensuring it is plumb in both frames. Pack behind the fixings. Make sure with a long straight edge that there is no bow, again in both planes. Increase or decrease packing where necessary. See Fig 1.

• Next ensure the bottom is level and pack the lock-side as required.

• At this stage re-hang the door if previously removed.

• Fix the top lock-side only at this stage.

• By bringing the door to the almost closed position it can be seen if the frame requires ‘winding in or out’. See Fig 2.

• Fix the lock side to brickwork ensuring the gap is as even as possible over the length of the door, See Fig 1. once again checking for bow in the frame with a long straight edge.

• External frames finally pack or point beneath the cill, and seal to brickwork around the frame.

in Summary:

• Correct toe and heeling.

• Correct spacing of fixings (fixings should be placed at least 150mm from any joint). 5 on each side equally spaced is recommended.

• Ideally trouser type packers behind and opposite any locking points. (A small amount of sealant will hold these in place in place in case of any movement).
