People SMARTObj: to be able to develop people SMART skills in our students
People SMART is…
a skill which we need to teach to our students—it is a key life skill, as well as an extremely effective way of learning.
We all know that students enjoy working with their peers and that many of them feel more secure when doing so. But we also know that it can be more hassle for us and there is always the potential for chaos!
However, carefully planned People Smart work can be a valuable learning experience for students, as the ‘We Learn’ information illustrates.
We learn:
20% of what we hear30% of what we see50% of what we see and hear
10% of what we read
70% of what we discuss with others
90% of what we teach to others80% of what we experience personally
