Background

April 5th 1969- Born in Rheydt, Germany 1989-1992- Studied at the Düsseldorf Academy of

Arts, Münster Academy of Fine Arts, and Hamburg Academy of Fine Arts, Germany

1999-2003- Served as a guest professor at several art schools including: De Ateliers, Amsterdam The Academy of Fine Arts, Hamburg The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen

2009- Nominated as professor of sculpting to the University of Art Berlin

Controversy

2008- Raised controversy about his own couched idea

"I want to show a person, which dies a natural death or just died a natural death. My target is to show the beauty of death.“

Wants to lead death out of the social taboo with this public dying-room and make it into a positive experience similar to the birth of a human being.
