The season 2015/2016 is over and a year full of successes and incredible experiences comes to an end. The E7 team was exceptionally well-balanced right from the start.

As in the previous year, we participated in the competitions in England, Austria, Germany and Spain. The competitions were intense. Even though there were some minor setbacks, it was overall a very successful season!

Our first competition in Silverstone began with promising achievements in the dynamic disciplines. We were all the more disappointed when we were disqualified because our front wing was 3 mm too wide. This was a bitter setback for the team, but it sparked the motivation for the upcoming competitions.

The competition at the Red Bull ring was very exciting since nothing was decided until the very end. We delivered a excellent performance in statics. The dynamic disciplines went smoothly till the end and we achieved rankings among the top 5. The competition remained thrilling up until the last minute. Eventually, we came in third.

The event at the Hockenheim ring will be remembered for a long time. The atmosphere and friendly competition were amazing! Good performances in the dynamic disciplines and an intense race in the Endurance discipline put us in third place.

Our last stop was warm Barcelona. Incredible weather and a great atmosphere made it the most pleasant competition. The statics were our strength at this location. The dynamic disciplines went well. Unfortunately, our vehicle failed in the Endurance unfortunately.

To finish the season in style, we had a team driving event and a legendary farewell party.

Mit der Saison 2015/2016 geht ein Jahr voller Erfolge und unglaublicher Erfahrungen zu Ende.Das E7 Team war von Anfang an außergewöhnlich gut aufeinander eingespielt .

Wie im Vorjahr bestritten wir die Wettbewerbe in England, Österreich, Deutschland und Spanien. Die Wettbewerbe waren intensiv. Es gab zwar kleinere Rückschläge, aber die Erfolge haben überwogen!

Unser erster Wettbewerb in Silverstone begann vielversprechend mit guten Leistungen in den dynamischen Disziplinen. Umso größer war die Enttäuschung, als wir aufgrund eines um 3 mm zu breiten Frontflügels disqualifiziert wurden. Dieser herbe Rückschlag für das Team feuerte jedoch die Motivation für die nächsten Wettbewerbe an.

Der Wettbewerb am Red Bull Ring war sehr spannend, da bis zum Schluss alles offen war. Wir lieferten eine Top-Leistung in den Statics. Auch die dynamischen Disziplinen liefen bis zum Schluss reibungsfrei und wir erreichten Platzierungen unter den Top 5. Bis zur letzten Minute haben wir alle mitgefiebert und konnten schlussendlich den dritten Platz mit nach Hause nehmen.

Das Event am Hockenheimring wird uns lange in Erinnerung bleiben. Die Atmosphäre und die freundschaftliche Konkurrenz dort waren unvergleichlich! Gute Leistungen in den dynamischen Disziplinen und ein intensives Rennen im Endurance hievten uns auf den dritten Platz auf dem Podium.

Die letzte Station war das warme Barcelona. Unglaubliches Wetter und eine tolle Atmosphäre machten es zum angenehmsten Wettbewerb.Die Statics waren an diesem Standort unsere Stärke. Die dynamischen Disziplinen verliefen gut, doch leider fiel unser Fahrzeug im Endurance aus.

Zum Saisonabschluss wurde ein Teamfahren veranstaltet sowie eine legendäre Abschiedsparty gefeiert.

Nochmals vielen Dank an jedes Teammitglied, jeden Sponsor und jeden Besucher – es war eine geile Saison!

Es geht wieder los! – Der Konstruktionswettbewerb Formula Student Electric geht in die 7. Runde und wir sind wieder mit dabei!

Konzeption, Konstruktion und Fertigung sind die drei großen Phasen vor dem Rollout, bei dem unser Fahrzeug der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt wird. Vertieft in CAD-Programme, Excel-Tabellen und unzählige Simulationen sind wir bereits fleißig dabei, an unseren Erfolgen der vorherigen Saisons anzuknüpfen.Jeder Strang hat sein Konzept für diese Saison schon vorgestellt und mithilfe anschließender Diskussionen und Feedback der Alumni optimiert.

Aktuell stecken wir mitten in der Konstruktionsphase, was bedeutet, dass unser Container rund um die Uhr von Teammitgliedern und deren Laptops besetzt ist.

Here we go again! - The Formula Student Electric goes into its 7th season and we are back, ready to compete!

Conception, construction and production are the three stages before the rollout at which our vehicle is presented to the public.Buried in CAD software, Excel spreadsheets and countless simulations, we are already diligently living up to our successes in previous seasons. Each strand has already presented its concept for this season and improved it thanks to discussions and feedback from the alumni.

We are currently in the middle of the design phase. Therefore, our container is occupied 24/7 by team members and their laptops.

Damit das neue Team optimal daran arbeiten kann, unsere Ziele zu erreichen, wurde unser Container erstmal auf Vordermann gebracht. Ein schöner Effekt der gemeinsamen Aktion: die Teammitglieder lernten sich besser kennen und übten sich schon einmal darin, sich auch bei einfachen Aufgaben als Team zu organisieren.Viel Staub, Pizzakartons und Nerven später war das Werk vollbracht und unser Container er-strahlte in neuem Glanz für die Saison 2016/2017!

Drei volle Tage hat sich unser Team genommen, um Zeit miteinander zu verbringen und sich gegenseitig kennenzulernen.Die Location in Altensteig im Schwarzwald bot tolle Wanderwege und genügend Freizeitaktivi-täten, um den Zusammenhalt im Team zu stärken. Das Team hat gemeinsam gekocht, gespeist, sich mit ausgeklügelten Spielen und auf einer langen Wanderung besser kennengelernt. Diese gemeinsamen Aktionen zielten darauf ab, die Kommunikation zwischen den Mitgliedern zu verbessern und effiziente Kooperation zu fördern.

To give our new team a fresh start, we cleaned and tidied our container. A welcome effect of our joint effort: the team members got to know each other and got to work together as a team.After dealing with lot of dust, pizza boxes and our nerves, the work was done and our container is all cleaned up for the season 2016/2017!

Our team took three full days off to spend time together and get to know each other.The location in Altensteig in the Black Forest offered great hiking trails and sufficient leisure activities to strengthen the team spirit. The team cooked and dined together, played games and got better acquainted during a long hike. These joint activities were aimed at improving communication between members and promoting effective cooperation.

Wir wagen den nächsten Schritt!Im Sommer 2017 wird es den ersten offiziellen Wettbewerb mit autonom fahrenden Rennfahr-zeugen am Hockenheimring geben. Beim Formula Student Germany Event in Hockenheim gab es schon 2016 den ersten Konzeptwettbewerb zum Thema „Formula Student Driverless“. Das Greenteam, genauer gesagt der Förderverein, wird sich in dieser neuen Studenten-Rennse-rie mit 13 weiteren Teams (Stand 10/16) in dynamischen und statischen Disziplinen messen. Das Team besteht zum größten Teil aus Alumni des Greenteam Uni Stuttgart e.V. aus den Saisons E2 bis E7.Mit unserer geballten Erfahrung mit Rennfahrzeugen und dem Willen, den nächsten Schritt zu gehen, erhoffen wir uns einen super Start in die neue Rennserie!

Autonomes Fahren

Mitte Oktober war es endlich soweit. Jedes E7 Teammitglied durfte die Früchte seiner Arbeit ernten und sich im Cockpit des E7 wie ein Rennfahrer fühlen.Auf dem Firmengelände unseres Sponsors Vöhringer wurde ein Parcours für das Team mit Erklä-rungen, Tipps und Hinweisen der offiziellen Fahrer des E7-Teams aufgebaut. Die erste Überraschung kam schnell, der E7 war zu kräftig und überforderte die unerfahrenen Mitglieder mit seinen 80 KW.Also wurde der E7 auf 45 KW gedrosselt und dann konnte es losgehen. Die Expertise der offiziellen Fahrer erwies sich als nützlich, denn die zweite Überraschung des Tages waren die unglaublichen guten Zeiten, die die Amateure in den Asphalt brannten. Das bestätigte die Exzellenz des E7. Das Vertrauen zum Fahrzeug war schnell da und das Fahrzeug verhielt sich im Limit absolut neutral.Es war eine tolle Erfahrung für das gesamte Team und das Grinsen jedes einzelnen Mitglieds war die harte Arbeit wert!

We are taking the next step!In summer 2017, there will be the first official competition with autonomous driving vehicles at the Hockenheim ring. The first concept competition for the „Formula Student Driverless“ already took place at the Formula Student Germany event in Hockenheim, Germany, in 2016. The Greenteam, or more specifically its „Förderverein“, will compete with 13 other teams (as of 10/16) in dynamic and static disciplines in this new student racing series. The team consists largely of alumni from the Greenteam Uni Stuttgart e.V. from the seasons E2 to E7. With our experience with racing cars and our intention to take the next step, we are hoping for a great start in the new racing series!

Autonomous Driving

Mid-October, the day we had been waiting for had finally arrived. Every E7 team member had the chance to reap the fruits of their work and experience being a racing driver behind the wheel of the E7. On the company premises of our sponsor Vöhringer, a course was built for the team with expla-nations, tips and hints from the official drivers of the E7 team. We were surprised that the E7 was too fast to be handled by our inexperienced members with its 80 KW.So the E7 was throttled to 45 KW. Then, it was ready to go. The expertise of the official riders proved useful: our amateur drivers achieved incredibly good lap times. This confirmed the excellence of the E7. We learned quickly to trust our car and the E7 behaved absolutely neutral at the limit.It was a great experience for the entire team and the grin of each member was worth the hard work!

Ein ganz besonderes Ereignis in der Region Stuttgart. Sonniges Wetter, mehrere Tausend Besucher und unzählige Sportwagen sowie Exoten – da durften wir mit unserem Rennwagen natürlich nicht fehlen!Den ganzen Tag hatten die Besucher die Möglichkeit, etwas über unser Team, die Formula Student und natürlich über unseren E-Rennwagen zu erfahren. Dieser zog durch den starken Kontrast zu anderen Rennfahrzeugen sehr viele neugierige Blicke auf sich. Auch unser Team hatte Spaß an den Fahrzeugen und führte viele interessante Gespräche mit den Besuchern unseres Standes.

Our team had fun seeing the cars and we had many interesting conversations with the visitors of our exhibition stand.
