It is also common to adopt a performance based approach to demonstrate compliance on energy consumption as well as daylight performance in the process of green building certifications. Various commonly used simulation tools and methods are also introduced in this short course which we hope you will find this useful. There are different types of green building assessment methods in the world. This short course will give you an overview of some of the methods and their special requirements including the one used in Hong Kong on BEAM Plus. A lot of these assessment methods require energy and daylight simulation, which will be included in the short course. An update on the latest development of Building Energy Codes will be presented. The main objective of this short course is not simply giving you an updated on the various green building assessment methods but to bring the awareness and application of more and more green methods in the design and construction of buildings so that we can have more sustainability development.
