National AIS Screening Fly-In H.R. 669: Nonnative Wildlife Invasion
Prevention Act: Introduced by Chairwoman Bordallo on Jan.
26, 2009 under the House Subcommittee on Insular Affairs, Oceans and Wildlife.
Legislation provides a proactive, scientifically based approach to pre-import screening to prevent the introduction and spread of high risk nonnative wildlife species into the United States given their potential to disrupt the economy, the environment, human health or native wildlife.

Great Lakes Commission Advocacy
Advocacy message to Congressional representatives and Senators requesting their support for H.R. 669:
Our lakes, rivers, forests and native organisms are threatened every day by the global movement of invasive species that spread disease, alter ecosystems, and cause serious economic harm to industries and communities. Your support for H.R. 669 is critical to establish the authority needed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to apply a science based risk assessment tool to prevent the importation of the most harmful wildlife species.
