ATMC Graduate Work Placement initiative.

This initiative has been developed jointly by Federation University Australia (Fed ), The Australian Computer Society (ACS) & ATMC . The Australian Computer Society CEO, Alan Patterson, welcomed the joint initiative as a tangible example of the ACS’s commitment to engage in “greater collaboration between the education and training system, careers advisors, employers and the ICT professional body. This particular program, leads the way in enabling the demand side in particular – the employers – in taking a greater role in helping shape education outcomes”.

“This new program is a great opportunity for our Information Technology graduates to build on their professional development”, Professor John Yearwood, Dean of the School of Science, Information Technology and Engineering, said. “We welcome the involvement of the Australian Technical Management College (ATMC) in this project. The University is pleased to welcome the additional students from the ATMC and would encourage all prospective students to contact the ATMC for more information about this program,” Professor Yearwood said.

Two students from ATMC commenced working in Sydney in 2014. They are Nitika Mehmi and Abdul Mohammed. Dr Manish Malhotra, CEO of the ATMC, also supported the initiative. “This is the start of an ongoing program to combine excellent academic outcomes with the relevant professional development. The Graduate Certificate will benefit many of our international ATMC IT students studying in Sydney and Melbourne”, Dr Malhotra said.

Nitika is from India and studied a Bachelor of Computer Application and Master of Computer Application in India before completing a Masters of Information Technology at the ATMC. Her long term career goal is to see herself working successfully with her IT skills which she gained by studying MIT at the ATMC.

“Choosing work placement was the best decision I ever made. It completely helped me in developing my IT and communication skills. I also learned about work culture, which is the most important part of a successful professional life. I chose the ATMC for the quality courses and personal attention to the students.”

Abdul is from Hyderabad in India and studied Master of Information Technology Management at ATMC. Before studying at the ATMC, Abdul completed a Bachelor of Technology in India. Adbul’s long term career goal is to pursue a PhD and become a project manager in the IT Industry.
