*Call to Worship L: As we gather around the table of the LORD today, P: we remember the peoples of the world divided into many nations and tongues.

L: We gather in the name of the Almighty, Creator of every man and woman, every plant and animal. P: We join in the chorus of praise with sisters and brothers around the world to celebrate our LORD. L: May Christ's church be strengthened and united through the sacrament of Holy

Communion.

*Opening Hymn “In the Midst of New Dimensions” NCH # 391 *Prayer of Confession

Leader: Lord, on this world communion Sunday, help us examine our hearts so that we may pay proper respect to Christ's gift of sacrificial love. Thank you for offering reconciliation to all of humankind, the forgiveness of sins through Christ, our high priest.

Page 3: Grace United Church of Christ 06 2019 bulletin.pdfUrdu melody, arr. Francis . Westbrook (1950) *all to Worship L: As we gather around the table of the LORD today, P: we remember the

P: Almighty and ever-present God, we confess our sins to you. We are truly sorry for our wrongdoings and shortcomings, for sins of commission and sins of omission. Forgive us, we pray, in Christ's name.

Empower us to serve you fully, to share the resources we have with those who have less, to weep with those who weep, and to laugh with those who laugh. Help us to be good stewards over the earth you have placed in our care; help us to unite in love and concern for one another, not just in our local communi-ty, but with brothers and sisters in all the world.

As we draw near to your holy table we thank you, Lord, for providing the Bread of Life for us. As we partake, impart on us your grace and mercy, unite us with Christ, our Lord, and with one another. May your kingdom be estab-lished in all the earth. Amen.

Prayer of the People

Call for Tithes and Offerings

Offertory "Be Still, and Have Faith" Jonas Dawson James Denton

*Offertory Prayer *The Great Thanksgiving Leader: The Lord be with you. People: And also with you. Leader: Lift up your hearts. People: We lift them up to the Lord. Leader: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. People: It is right to give our thanks and praise. Leader: …And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven, we praise your name and join their unending hymn: ALL: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, Heaven and earth are full of your glory, Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. Leader: …And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ, we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ's offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith: ALL: Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again. Leader: …Through Christ, and with Christ, and in Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all honor and glory is yours, Almighty Father, now and forever. ALL: Amen.

Welcome to Grace Church!

Neighbors in Need (NIN) is a special mission offering of the

United Church of Christ that supports ministries of justice

and compassion throughout the United States. One-third of

NIN funds support the Council for American Indian Minis-

try (CAIM). Two-thirds of this offering is used by the UCC's

Justice and Witness Ministries (JWM) to support a variety of justice initiatives, advocacy

efforts, and direct service projects through grants. Neighbors in Need grants are awarded to

UCC churches and organizations doing justice work in their communities. These grants fund

projects whose work ranges from direct service to community organizing and advocacy to

address systemic injustice. This year, special consideration will be given to projects focusing

on serving our immigrant neighbors and communities. GRUCC will receive the NIN offering

on October 6, 2019 as part of their World Communion Sunday observance.
