Our annual B2Gold Big Brothers Golf Classic is a charitable golf tournament, drawing an esteemed guest list of executive-level business people from across Canada.

All funds raised go towards supporting Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver’s mentoring programs. This year’s event in accordance with Vancouver Coastal Health and Provincial Safety Standards will maintain social distance measures. Starting with staggered arrival times, attendees hit the links at Vancouver’s finest private course Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club, including on-course food, drinks and unique activities. This year we will not be hosting a cocktail reception, or dinner for safety reasons, but we will be increasing on-course activities and introducing an online silent auction.

Thank you for your understanding and patience during this time as we plan for this year’s socially distanced event. Please know that we are working closely with Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club to present you a spectacular event, but just in a safe distance. Not only will you have fun at in a world-class course, but your support is so important this year for children and youth during this critical time.

The current COVID-19 pandemic has shifted our world and this is a very uncertain time for our local and global communities. We are an organization dedicated to supporting mentorship relationships for children and youth.

We have all been facing social isolation, but it has been especially challenging for the vulnerable young people. Now more than ever, the 1100 children and youth that we serve need mentors and a support system during this challenging and unprecedented time.

With the loss of going to school and playing with their friends, children and youth have become emotionally and socially isolated even more than before. By maintaining positive mentoring relationships that were already part of their lives, we can help mitigate risks and can provide needed support to children, youth and their families.

We need your support. The organization has suffered a huge hit in funding due to cancellation of the annual Bowl for Big Brothers event and suspension of our clothing donation service. Due to the loss of revenue, the organization had to unfortunately close down our Sea-to-Sky office, a community that we have served for over 25 years.

Your generosity will go towards sustaining our organization and programs to serve the matches that we currently have during this challenging time. Please help us remain a constant in a young person’s life during these unpredictable times, through the thick and thin.

you a socially-distanced and safe golf tournament at one of Vancouver’s finest private courses.

We are currently planning and hoping to hold the 2020 B2Gold Big Brothers Golf Classic on September 28 at the Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club in Vancouver. We will of course only proceed with the tournament if we can ensure the necessary health and safety requirements.

Shaughnessy is one of Canada’s top private golf courses and has generously hosted the B2Gold Big Brothers tournament for the last nine years.Traditionally the day begins with a fabulous buffet brunch, then a round of golf with fun events and great food & beverages throughout the course. Post golf we host a cocktail party, featuring great silent auction items to bid on, and finally a delicious dinner, while we listen to interesting speakersand celebrate our prize-winning golfers.
