Bear Books

Bear Books is an imaginary bookstore. With a highly curated selection of books, they appeal to both the young and the old bookworms, as well as anyone who appreciates books as objects to be relished and displayed. In this branding study, the main objective was to create a visual language which blends modern design with a traditional flare.

The bear form on top of the book was created, drawing inspiration from the resourcefulness of bears. The color blue represents the feeling of serenity that is offered by books. Craft paper is used in other design elements to bring a traditional touch into this bookstore experience.

Pegah Ahmadi Poster Workshop - June 2011

A poster designed for a Poster Workshop directed by the Iranian graphic designer Pegah Ahmadi. This is a typographic poster, designed with Persian alphabet. The subject of the workshop was Mawlana’s Masnavi. The line picked for this poster was about days getting longer and longer and blending into night.

Skopje International Poster Competition - June 2013

The theme for this competition was “Citizen 2020”. The participants were asked to imagine the state the world will be in in 2020. The main idea for this poster was how the environmental conditions are getting worse and worse and how we are becoming accustomed to these changes in our daily lives. This poster was one of the 50 finalists in the competition.

Make Tea Not War - March 2014

This is an organic typography project, inspired by the Monty Python quote “Make Tea Not War”. The alphabet was created on paper with tea leaves, photographed and then edited and arranged in Adobe Photoshop.

Kıvılcım Magazine Ad - September 2015

Kıvılcım is a creative hub run by Technology Development Foundation Of Turkey. It is a space where entrepreneurs, students, academicians and investors can gather, network and organize events. This is a magazine ad announcing the opening of Kıvılcım.

Poster for an event organized by Technology Development Foundation of Turkey and IE Business School. The speaker, founder of Piper Lab and data analyst Alejandro Llorente talks about data analysis in the context of marketing, social network and economy.

TTGV Environment Activities - November 2015

An infographic map which breaks down the clean production and industrial symbiosis projects throughout Turkey which are carried out by Technology Development Foundation of Turkey and their various partners.

TOD - September 2015

TOD is a series of events on Design Thinking, directed by Özem Yalım and organized and sponsored by Technology Development Foundation of Turkey. Özlem Yalım is a product designer, strategic design manager and creative entrepreneur. These series of events involve workshops, trainings and lectures by design thinking pioneers.

Animal Spirits, Cat - April 2014

Animal Spirits is a 3-piece illustrion series, inspired by the ancient belief of Shamanism. According to this belief; each animal represents a characteristic. Whenever a person is in need of a certain characteristic, the animal who represents it appears to the said person in nature, dreams or visions to guide him/her. In these series, I assigned a characteristic to each animal based on my own reflections on them. Drawn with pencil then scanned and colored in Adobe PS.
