God must be a woman Often when we face a dilemma, when we are locking horns with life’s tough choices an atheist comes to us and tells us to be calm and think it through with logic and evaluate everything. Contrast this with a religious person who tells us “God has all the answers. Seek his blessings and you will find your answer”. A similarity can be drawn to the famous catch-phrase “Men to the left as women are always right”. On a jocular note a better one would be “ A women may be misinformed, mislead, unclear, misguided, and even downright stupid..but she is never ever wrong.” It is these phrases that draw our attention towards a belief that God must be a woman. Not only do the quotations but a lot that is happening around us gives similar indications. We address the nature around us as mother nature attaching love and respect to it with the prefix ‘mother’. Everyone has a feeling of worship for a mother be it an atheist or a believer. Even mythology supports the notion. Taking a queue from Hinduism , “Devi” is the Sanskrit word for “Divine”. Devi is an integral part of any hindu goddess .She is the female counterpart of her male aspect without whom the male which represents consciousness remains impotent and void. Devi as the female manifestation of a supreme lord is also known as Prakriti-the hindi word for mother nature. The hindi word “devi” is an inspiration for the modern day word Diva which is of course related to the Italian deity “Diva”. Greek mythology also discusses goddesses in abundance. Be it Aphrodite , the goddess of love ,artemis the goddess of child birth, Athena the goddess of skill, battle strategy handcrafts and wisdom. God must be a woman

Often when we face a dilemma, when we are locking horns with life’s tough choices an atheist comes to us and tells us to be calm and think it through with logic and evaluate everything. Contrast this with a religious person who tells us “God has all the answers. Seek his blessings and you will find your answer”. A similarity can be drawn to the famous catch-phrase “Men to the left as women are always right”.On a jocular note a better one would be “A women may be misinformed, mislead, unclear, misguided, and even downright stupid..but she is never ever wrong.”

It is these phrases that draw our attention towards a belief that God must be a woman.

Not only do the quotations but a lot that is happening around us gives similar indications. We address the nature around us as mother nature attaching love and respect to it with the prefix ‘mother’. Everyone has a feeling of worship for a mother be it an atheist or a believer.Even mythology supports the notion. The hindi word “devi” is an inspiration for the modern day word Diva which is of course related to the Italian deity “Diva”.Greek mythology also discusses goddesses in abundance. Be it Aphrodite , the goddess of love ,artemis the goddess of child birth, Athena the goddess of skill, battle strategy handcrafts and wisdom. It is a common observation that the greek gods had the attributes of aggressors as compared to the greek goddesses who had attributes of wisdom, skill, love.

Keeping all the beliefs aside we even see singers like Travis Tritt in agreement. We may or may not agree to this belief but these lyrics sum it up quite well “God must be a womanYou're probably a lot like herYour grace is so amazingAn angel here on earthYou're so much like your makerShe sent you down to lay a crown on meGod must be a womanOnly mamas have a love that runs so deepWatching out for drunks and babies and foolsAnd castaways like me”
