I pray through God our Father & Jesus Christ our King & Savior that peace & grace are abundantly yours!

Who is in your family? We have biological families, friends we consider families, & we also have Christian friends who are our beloved families as well. Jesus gave us insight on who our families were. In Matt. 12:47-50 Jesus was teaching in a crowd & when His mother & brothers were looking for Him: someone told Him, “Look, Your mother & brothers are standing outside wanting to speak to You.” But Jesus replied, “Who is My mother & who are My brothers?” Pointing to His disciples, He said, “Here are My mother & My brothers. For whoever does the will of My Father in Heaven is My brother & sister & mother.” John 15:12-17, “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me, but I chose you & appointed you that you should go & bear fruit & that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He may give it to you. These things I command you, so that you will love one another.”

Hebrews 13:1 – Keep on loving one another as brothers & sisters. Galatians 6:10 – So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone & especially to those who are of the household of faith. 1 Peter 4:8 – Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.

You will hear me many times refer to our church family as brothers & sisters. That is because I know we are all brethren in Jesus Christ. I don’t have to wait to cross over to Heaven to speak to anyone in this manner. We are brothers & sisters now in present time as Christ Himself stated above in Matt. 12. I thank God every day for the privilege of knowing each of you as my brothers & sisters & being able to serve Him which is serving you in His church.

So, to my brothers & sisters today I offer up this prayer to our Father in Number 6: 24-26 - May the Lord bless you & keep you; may the Lord cause His face to shine upon you & be gracious to you; may the Lord lift up His countenance (His face showing an expression of great joy) towards you & give you peace.

intercedes for the saints according to the will of

God.

28 And we know that God causes all things to work

together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For

those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to

become conformed to the image of His Son, so that

He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called;

and these whom He called, He also justified; and

these whom He justified, He also glorified.

31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is

for us, who is against us? 32 He who did not spare

His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how

will He not also with Him freely give us all things? 33 Who will bring a charge against God’s elect?

God is the one who justifies; 34 who is the one who

condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather

Who was raised, Who is at the right hand of God,

Who also intercedes for us. 35 Who will separate us

from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or

distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness,

or peril, or sword? 36 Just as it is written,

“FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL

DAY LONG; WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE

SLAUGHTERED.”

37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly

conquer through Him Who loved us. 38 For I am

convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels,

nor principalities, nor things present, nor things

to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor

any other created thing, will be able to separate us

from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our

Lord.

HOW DO YOU PRAY

When you approach God in prayer do you take time to

imagine that He is sitting or standing next to you listening

to you in your mind? Do you take time to feel that Father

God, Jesus our King & Savior or the Holy Spirit the Great

Comforter is right there? You may be amazed at the

intense relationship that this will bring in your prayer life.

Try it, be patient, rely on His Word & see & acknowledge

each One of Them when you talk to Them. See Them

looking back at you & searching your soul into your very

being. We just fool ourselves if we try to hide anything

from God. The sooner we realize that, the sooner we can

truly bring everything including our burdens to God & find

the “peace” He has to give us. Jesus told us in Matt 11:30

– “My yoke is easy & my burden is light.” Prayers are not

one-way conversations. God talks to us through His word.

God hears us & He knows what is best for us. He loves us.

Hebrews 4: 12- 13 – For the Word of God is living & active.

Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to

dividing soul & spirit, joints & marrow. It judges the

thoughts & intentions of the heart. Nothing in all creation

is hidden from God’s sight; everything is uncovered &

exposed before the eyes of Him to Whom we must give

account. 2 Chronicles 16: 9 – For the eyes of the Lord roam

throughout the earth to show Himself strong on behalf of

those whose heart is fully devoted to Him…. Romans 8:28

– And we know that in all things God works for the good of

those who love Him, who have been called according to His

purpose.

John 14:27 – Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you.

Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts

be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 16:33 – I have

said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace.

In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have

overcome the world.”

Philippians 4:6-7 – Do not be anxious about anything, but

in everything by prayer & supplication with thanksgiving let

your requests be made known to God. And the peace of

God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your

hearts & your minds in Christ Jesus.

You are never alone. James 4:8 – Draw nearer to God &

He will draw nearer to you.

The September 11 attacks were a series of 4 coordinated terrorist attacks by the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda

against the U.S. on the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001. The attacks killed 2,996 people, injured over 6,000

others, & caused at least $10 billion in infrastructure & property damage. Additional people died of 9/11-related

cancer & respiratory diseases in the months & years following the attacks. Four passenger airliners all of which

departed from airports in the northeastern part of the U.S. bound for California—were hijacked by 19 al-Qaeda

terrorists. Two of the planes, AA Flight 11 & UA Flight 175, were crashed into the North & South towers respectively,

of the World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan. Within an hour & 42 minutes, both 110-story towers

collapsed. Debris & the resulting fires caused partial or complete collapse of all other buildings in the World Trade

Center complex, including the 47-story 7 World Trade Center tower, as well as significant damage to 10 other large

surrounding structures. A 3rd plane, AA Flight 77, was crashed into the Pentagon in Arlington County, Virginia, which

led to a partial collapse of the building's west side. The 4th plane, UA Flight 93, was initially flown toward

Washington, D.C., but crashed into a field in near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, after its passengers thwarted the

hijackers & the now famous phrase they used “Let’s Roll!” is forever linked to their heroism. 9/11 is the single

deadliest incident for 343 firefighters & 72 law enforcement officers in the history of the U. S.

WHERE WERE YOU WHEN THE WORLD STOPPED TURNING Dave sings

Where were you when the world stopped turnin, that September day. Out in the yard with your wife & children,

working on some stage in L.A. did you stand there in shock at the sight of that black smoke risin’ against that blue sky.

Did you shout out in anger in fear for your neighbors or did you just sit down & cry? Did you weep for the children

who lost their dear loved ones, pray for the ones who don’t know, did you rejoice for the people who walked from the

rubble, or sob for the one left below. Did you burst out in pride for the red, white & blue, the heroes who died just

doin’ what they do. Did you look up to Heaven for some kind of answer & look at yourself & what really matters.

I’m just a singer of simple songs, I’m not a real political man. I watch CNN but I’m not sure I can tell you the

difference in Iraq & Iran. But I know Jesus & I’ve talked to God, I remember this from when I was young, faith, hope

& love are some good things He gave us & the greatest is Love.

Where were you when the world stopped turnin, that September day, teachin’ a class full of innocent children, drivin’

down some cold interstate. Did you feel guilty ‘cause, you’re a survivor. In a crowded room did you feel alone, did you

call up your mother & tell her you love her, did you dust off that Bible at home. Did you open your eyes, hope it never

happened. Close your eyes & not go to sleep. Did you notice the sunset first time in ages, speak to some stranger on

the street. Did you lay down at night think of tomorrow. Go out & buy you a gun. Did you turn off that violent old

movie you’re watchin’, & turn on “I love Lucy” re-runs. Did you go to a church & hold hands with some stranger. Stand

in line & give your own blood. Did you just stay home & cling tight to your family, Thank God you had somebody to

love. C.

I walked through a county courthouse square. On a park bench an old man was sitting there. I said, “your old courthouse is kinda run down.” He said, “naw, it'll do for our little town.” I said, “your old flagpole has leaned a little bit & that's a ragged old flag you got hanging on it.” He said, “have a seat”, & I sat down. “Is this the first time you've been to our little town?’ I said, “I think it is.” He said, “I don't like to brag, but we're kinda proud of that ragged old flag. You see, we got a little hole in that flag there when Washington took it across the Delaware, & it got powder-burned the night Francis Scott Key sat watching it writing say can you see. And it got a bad rip in New Orleans with Packingham & Jackson tuggin' at its seams. And it almost fell at the Alamo beside the Texas flag, but she waved on though. She got cut with a sword at Chancellorsville & she got cut again at Shiloh Hill. There was Robert E. Lee, Beauregard, & Bragg, & the south wind blew hard on that ragged old flag. On Flanders field in World War one she got a big hole from a Bertha gun. she turned blood red in World War Two, she hung limp & low a time or two. She was in Korea & Vietnam, she went where she was sent by Uncle Sam. She waved from our ships upon the Briny foam & now they've about quit waving her back here at home. In her own good land here she's been abused she's been burned, dishonored, denied, & refused. And the government for which she stands is scandalized throughout the land. And she's getting threadbare & wearing thin, but she's in good shape for the shape she's in. 'Cause she's been through the fire before & I believe she can take a whole lot more. So we raise her up every morning, we take her down every night, we don't let her touch the ground and we fold her up right. On second thought, I do like to brag. 'Cause I'm mighty proud of that ragged old flag
