Awarded the Role of Giant SlayerNewsMax placed GOA’s LarryPratt at Number Two out of100 in a list of the top GunRights activists in the countryin 2015. And early in theyear, PBS highlighted GOA’srole in killing Obama’ssignature gun controllegislation in 2013.

Frustrating Barack Obama

GOA mobilizedopposition to the ATF ban on the M855 “green tip”ammunition andrallied the grassrootsthrough Internet,Facebook and variousmedia sources. The

Obama administration subsequently backed down andpulled the ban –– with the President later confessing thatthe failure to pass gun control was “the greatestfrustration” of his presidency.

GOA-backed billsallowing for permitlesscarry were transmitted to Governors’ desks in five states, and in two of those states –– Kansas andMaine –– the Constitutional Carry bills were signed into law.

Changing Hearts & Minds

GOA representa-tives appeared inthousands ofmedia outlets thisyear and spoke atvarious collegecampus events,as well. Onestudent postedthat she no longerbelieved the guncontrol positionafter watchingone of LarryPratt’s debates.

And, in September, another student said Erich Pratt“really made a difference in the [anti-gun] students”after debating a Brady Campaign spokesman in front ofhundreds of students.
