What is Go Ultra Low

Go Ultra Low is a collaborative communications campaign between government and industry that aims to increase awareness and purchase consideration of electric vehicles (EVs)
With more attention on EVs than ever before Go Ultra Low aims to promote the benefits of EVs - both for the here and now but also looking ahead to create a positive cultural backdrop for the transition to low-carbon transport
The campaign is delivered by the Governmentrsquos Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) and the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) in collaboration with GUL Members which include vehicle manufacturers and energy companies
The 201920 campaign
It is an always-on campaign with key spikes of activity through the year and the opportunity for partners throughout
The campaign aims to
bull Capitalise on interest and awareness in EVs
bull Increase normalisation of EVs
bull Reduce misconceptions around EVs
In doing so we hope to
bull Increase purchase consideration and uptake of EVs 4

The challenge To build momentum and demonstrate the increased prevalence of EVs in order to normalise the technology and encourage purchase consideration
The idea The creative idea confidently re-frames the electric car as just lsquoThe Carrsquo to remove the differentiator and normalise ownership

EV Test Drives Myth vs Reality We know that there are a lot of myths and misconceptions surrounding EVs To help illustrate the reality behind the myths we have created a set of animations that address the myth and give the correct answers
We know that driving an EV can have a huge influence on peoplersquos attitudes towards making the switch to electric To help bring the EV experience to life for even more people we have created a suite of video content to showcase drivers trying out EVs for the first time
The following campaign strands will also be launched over the coming months
