China Operations ExpandOn September 23, 2002, Winters Instruments continued its aggressive global growth strategy by addinga second location to its operations in Shanghai, China. Winters Instruments (Shanghai) Inc. is a fullservice industrial instrumentation facility offering immediate sales service,technical support, extensive inventory, repair/calibration service and customconfigurations.

Mr. Peter Sun has been appointed to the position; Vice President of WintersInstruments (Shanghai) Inc. Peter has been a strong member of the Wintersteam at our Canadian Division and looks forward to new challenges in China.

This expansion puts Winters Instruments on five continents (North America,South America, Europe, Africa and Asia) serving over 70 countries worldwide.

Stainless Steel Needle Valves have been added to our Accessories product line. The stainlesssteel construction provides corrosion resistance, has excellent flow regulation, and is leak tight.The one piece body construction provides high strength and full safety. This instrument has“slow opening” to prevent sudden pressure surges and instrument damage.

Winters Stainless Steel Needle Valve is available in either 1/4” or 1/2” female x female or malex female connections. The Soft Seat has a maximum operating pressure of 6,000 psi (41,368kPa). The Hard Seat has a maximum operating pressure of10,000 psi (68,947 kPa). Common applications include refineries,liquid petroleum gas, and processing plant systems difficult to shutoff due to solid contents such as dust, rust, dirt, etc.

Winters has expanded its Accessories offering by including Cooling Towers. CoolingTowers are constructed of 316 stainless steel and are designed to protect instrumentsin high temperature applications. This accessory has a 1/4” or 1/2” NPT male x 1/4” or1/2” NPT female connection. Winters Cooling Tower is designed for process media tem-peratures up to 570OF, and can reduce the media temperature by as much as 500OF(depending on ambient conditions).

The Schaeffer Gauge is a diaphragm pressure gauge designed for measuringlow positive pressures in an aggressive and highly corrosive media. Thisgauge is best suited for oil refineries, pulp and paper, chemical plants andmany other industrial applications.

This pressure gauge is equipped with a concentrically thin corrugateddiaphragm clamped between two flanges. The Schaeffer Gauge is availablein 4” (100mm) and 6” (150mm) dial sizes.
