Who are they?International groups of Rotarians, Rotarians’ family members, Rotary program participants and alumni.
What do they do?Help clubs and districts plan and implement large-scale projects in a particular area of service.
Why do they do it?Because they have relevant expertise, experience, or a personal interest in a particular type of service activity.

APPLYING FOR A DISTRICT DESIGNATED FUNDS
• Our district has two types of grants available to support Global Grant projects– Type A – Lead Club– Type C – Supporting Club
• Each of these grants require that the applying club contribute at least 4,000 USD towards the project

APPLYING FOR A DISTRICT DESIGNATED FUNDS
• For a Type A – Lead Club grant, our district provides 15,000 USD of DDF funding for the project
• For a Type C – Supporting Club grant, our district provides 5,000 USD of DDF funding for the project
• In the 2019/20 Rotary Year our district provided 230,000 USD to support Global Grants

• Grants are provided on a first come, first serve basis to applications that meet the TRF Global Grant requirements

APPLYING FOR A GOVERNMENT OF CANADA GRANT
• Funding from GOC is available 1:1 on Canadian Club contributions and Canadian District Contributions
• Some restrictions apply
• Some additional forms and approvals required

Grant Focus
Five of Rotary’s 6 areas of focus are involved in Child & Maternal Health which is the preferred Area of Focus of the Canada program.

Eligibility Restrictions
The agreement has three major eligibility restrictions:
1- Scholarships;
2- Construction activities of any kind;
3- Purchase of vehicles and major medical equipment (over $100,000).

• Rotary International will provide a match for all District Designated funds at $1 for $1 from the World Fund
• Rotary International will provide a match for club funds, partner club funds and Government of Canada funds at

Sign in to My Rotary.
Go to Take Actionthen Grant Center.

NAVIGATE THE GRANT CENTER
The Grant Center’s landing page gives an overview of Rotary grants and links to helpful resources.

NAVIGATE THE GRANT CENTER
You can search for grants by number, title, or area of focus. After entering search criteria, use the Filter button.
Use Grant Searchto find all of the global and district grants sponsored by your district, whether or not your club is involved.

Use the menus at the top to navigate the Grant Center.
Choose My Grants to see all of the grants you’re involved in.
Go to My Actions to see the grants you’re involved in that require action from you.

APPLY FOR A GLOBAL GRANT
To start a global grant application, go to Apply for a Grant.
Choose Global Grant from the list and click Let’s begin!

In step 1, Basic Information, start by telling us your project’s name, what type of project it is, and the primary host and international contacts.
Click on the question mark icons throughout the application for important information.
Use the Save & Continue button to move to the next step.

Throughout the process, you can click Save & exit application.
You can also create a PDF of the grant application at any time using Print application (PDF), or you can delete an application that is still in “Draft” status by clicking on Delete application.

APPLY FOR A GLOBAL GRANT
When you’ve completed steps 1-10, you’re ready to finalize and submit your application. In step 11 you Review and Lock your application. Check each answer you’ve given to make sure all of the information is accurate and complete. You may find it helpful to print the full application.
After you review the grant application, lock it. This will change its status from “Draft” to “Authorizations Required” and make it read-only — you won’t be able to make changes. Only the primary contact can lock the application.

APPLY FOR A GLOBAL GRANT
In step 12, Authorizations, the primary contacts and district and club leaders will authorize the application.
Review the information, then click Authorize now. As soon as everyone who needs to authorize the application does so, the application is submitted to The Rotary Foundation for review. After your application is submitted, you cannot change it without contacting Rotary staff.
