Developed by Alan Wilkinson, Principal of World Class Learning Academy, New York,exclusively for Nord Anglia Education schools ragtrade provides a great opportunity forstudents to engage in some creative and enterprising activities.

The game involves six challenges about different aspects of the fashion industry:

Clothing design; Marketing; Advertising; Manufacture; Blog; Models

Teams of students will be required to complete all six challenges and use their work to pitchfor business. Each Nord Anglia Education school that takes part will select their winningteam. That team’s portfolio will be submitted to the central ragtrade judging panel. The panel

will include Alan Wilkinson, fashion students at New York University and successfulentrepreneurs. The winning team from each school will have their work exhibited in TheGlobal Classroom and will win a prize.

Based on the ‘Big Idea’ of the environment, student teams work on projects designed to usethe technology from their daily lives to solve real-world problems.

Challenge Based Learning, a concept developed by Apple, creates a call to action forstudents to develop a specific solution to a problem they identify.

This year’s ‘Big Idea’ has been inspired by Global Classroom’s collaboration with WWF forEarth Hour.

This space has been designed to bring together all the chess clubs across our family ofschools to learn about chess, learn about each other and learn to get better at this ancientgame. So get exploring!
