2006 SCHOOL MUSICAL

In 2006 a group of students initiated the production of the musical HELLO DOLLY.

They performed to packed houses and received rave reviews!

DRAMA ON TOUR

In 2005 the Year 10 Drama-On-Tour class took their production Revolting Rhymes to Wudinna- a rural community on the west coast of South Australia. The students

performed for the community and experienced country life by staying with local families.

In 2005 Year 10 Drama students took

their group devised production of “Coo-ee, Your Country Calls”

to the residents of a local

nursing home.

VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING

TECHNICAL THEATRE

Students come from a range of eastern suburbs schools to study

this course at GIHS. The units they study form part of a nationally

accredited Certificate IV in Entertainment

In 2006 Sam Deere wrote and produced a movie as the core task for the

SACE subject of Extension Studies.

Arts teachers Geoff Kemp and Harry Postema played the two key characters in the movie.

In 2003 Kate Lymn was awarded maximum marks for her studio work.

This portrait was selected for the 2004 SSABSA Art Show, and was included on

the CD- Rom Artworks Australia: An Exhibition of Student Artwork from

Australian High Schools

It was also chosen for display at SSABSA for the year following the

SSABSA Art Show.
