Plant consisted of four GE 7FA gas turbines, Foster Wheeler HRSG’s. GE steam turbines and GE air cooled, and Hydrogen cooled generators. Put in charge of the water treatment plant which consisted of raw and wastewater clarifiers, carbon filters, media filters, RO units and mixed beds.

Nov 2001 to May 2002 Power Industry ConsultantsAES Total Energy ProjectGuayama, PRCommissioning Shift SupervisorI completed a contract as a commissioning shift supervisor for Power Industry Consultants and the AES Total Energy Project. We commissioned two 250 MW Alstom CFB boilers and two Alstom 250 MW Alstom reheat turbines with Alstom air cooled generators. The Water Treatment Department consists of media filters, makeup and side stream RO units, a clarifier for cooling tower makeup, Anion units and mixed beds. In addition, I worked with mechanical commissioning through turbine oil flushes, feed pump oil flushes, condensate and feed water line flushes, boiler chemical cleaning and steam blows. I also administered the lock-out, tag-out process.

July 1999 to Nov 2001 CH Resources IncorporatedNiagara Falls, NYOperations and Maintenance ManagerThis facility consists of one 500 KPPH Pyroflow circulating fluidized bed boiler which supplies steam to a 53 MW Imo-Delaval turbine/generator. The fuel used was a bituminous coal and petroleum coke and tire chip mixture. The plant is controlled by a Johnson-Yokogawa DCS. The feed water system is fed by three 250 KPPH KSB electric driven barrel pumps. I assisted in startup of the plant after it had been idle for two years. I oversaw all aspects of plant maintenance and operations including: setting up training programs, procedures and policies for all personnel, scheduling and planning of outages, coordinating with contractors and ensuring all parts needed were on site. I assisted the plant manager with verifying that operations and maintenance were within budget and in planning and carrying out various tests for alternate fuels. I investigated and recommended various process upgrades.
