Design Downtown Glen Ellyn Workshop

The Village of Glen Ellyn is in the early design phase of improvementsto the downtown streetscape and utilities. As part of this process,residents, visitors, businesses and property owners are invited toparticipate in an upcoming Design Downtown Glen Ellyn Workshop.The workshop will be held during the annual Indoor Sidewalk Sale onSaturday, January 26 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Fire Station #1, 524Pennsylvania Avenue. Participants will have the opportunity to receiveinformation on the upcoming project and weigh in on various aspects ofthe downtown streetscape project through interactive stations. GLEN ELLYN POLICE RESPOND TO BURGLARY IN PROGRESS(UPDATE #1)

Glen Ellyn, IL - On January 18, 2019, the Glen Ellyn PoliceDepartment was notified of a burglary in progress at the combinedTaco Bell and KFC Restaurant located at 370 Roosevelt Road.After further investigation, it has been determined that the offender

in this case was inside the business for several hours waiting for the employees to open therestaurant. Additionally, the offender swung a crow bar at the employees while telling them to open thesafe. Attached, and below, are images of the offender captured on surveillance cameras.

There was another burglary reported on January 17, 2019 to Flip’s Restaurant located at 340Roosevelt Road. In both cases, the offender entered the businesses after forcing entry to the drivethrough windows. The Glen Ellyn Police Department is asking local businesses to fortify drive throughwindows during off hours and ensure surveillance cameras and alarms are functional. If anyonerecognizes the individual in the photos, please contact the Glen Ellyn Police Department at 630-469-1187.
