CHAIR MESSAGE
Annette Loritz, Chair
Warm winter greetings after the record setting polar
vortex we all just endured. We hunkered down this
week and now it is time to return to our regular family
routines and get back to the business of engaging our
customers, clients, colleagues and goals!
With Groundhog’s Day tomorrow, I cannot help but be
reminded of the classic Bill Murray movie. His character, Phil
Connors wakes up each day to discover he is held captive in a
perpetual loop of reliving February 2nd. Like Phil, many of us
occasionally experience the same feeling of being stuck – as if each
day is the same. As our drive to reach New Year’s resolutions begins
to wane, it is important to remind ourselves to embrace each day
with a purposeful direction. Challenge yourself with small goals and
cultivate your determination that tomorrow will be better due to
your actions today. If your 2019 goals have gotten lost in your daily
activities, remember that the small contributions you make each day
result in the momentum necessary to achieving your larger goals and
dreams.
If you’re looking for inspiration, The Lisle Area Chamber of
Commerce is here to help with some great opportunities for you to
expand your network this month. Along with committee meetings
and a ribbon cutting at Ivy Rehab Physical Therapy on the February
7th, don’t miss the Multi- Chamber Economic Outlook Luncheon &
Business Expo on the 14th and two LINCT Leadership in Networking
events on the 12th & 26th. Additionally, if you haven’t already
purchased your tickets to the annual dinner dance on March 1st at
the Hilton Lisle/Naperville, this year’s Blarney Bash, A Gaelic Gala is
sure to bring the luck of the Irish to you.
Let’s hope the groundhog doesn’t see his shadow this year, so we can
all enjoy an early Spring. If you need something to brighten your day,
remember Spring Training starts this month!
