    The following regulation has been introduced by our SecurityDepartment on the issuance ofContractorBadges, as requiredby theDubai Naturalization andResidencyDepartment. Kindly followthe rules andregulationshereundertoensureasmoothworkprocessandtoavoidanyunnecessaryinconvenienceonsite.LOCAL CONTRACTORS (WITHIN THE UAE)1. EachmemberofyourteamrequirestocarryaContractorBadgeprocuredfromourSecurityDepartment

    upondepositingeithertheLabourCard/UAENationalIDCard/UAEDrivingLicence/UAEGovernmentOrganisationIDCard.

    2. EachindividualwillhavetheirLabourCardreturnedtothemuponreturningtheContractorBadge.

    3. EachbadgewillbechargedAED10andisvalidforthecompletebuildupandteardownperiod.

    4.AfineofAED100willbepayableonalostContractorBadge.

    5. Permanent Badges:Shouldyouwishtopurchaseapermanentbadge,arepresentativeofthecompanyshould provide the Protocol and Security department with a list of all staff requiring the permanentcontractorbadge.Thesubmissionshouldincludethefollowing:

    REGULATIONS REGARDING CONSTRUCTION OF SPACE ONLY STANDS

    SpaceOnlyexhibitors,areremindedthattheuseofwallsisrestrictedontheopensidesofthestand.We expect exhibitors to provide access to their stands on all open sides. The following guidelines mustbe observed. Any walling shall only: 1. be located as centrally as possible within the stand

    2. occupy a maximum of 20% of the total stand area3. in the event of construction of any walls on the perimeter of the standa maximum walling of 30% of the total perimeter length is permissible.

    Theminimumsizeforalldouble-storeystandsis60 sq mtrs.

    It isthe responsibilityof exhibitorstakingSpaceOnly tomake their ownarrangementsfor theprovisionofplatformfortheirstandarea,whichwouldfacilitatethepassageofcables.Theplatformshouldhavetimberfinishededgingandallcornersshouldberoundedavoidingrightangles. The finishing of stand floor edges inmetal strip sections is not allowed as they often leave sharp splinters and snags where they have not beenfinished correctly.Theplatform/flooringmustclearlydemarcatethecontractedspaceonly.However,kindlynotethattheheightoftheplatformforallstandslocatedintheSheikhRashidHallmustbeaminimumof10cms.ProvisionforaspecialrampforhandicappedvisitorsonstandswithplatformisaMUST,withsidesclearly

    definedatnotmorethan1:12gradient.Wetherefore,requestexhibitorstoadheretothisrequirement.

    Ondividedsites,exhibitorsareresponsibleforerectinganddecoratingsideandbackwallsfacingontoyourstandareastoaheightof2.5m.Walls(abovetheheightof2.5m)overlookingadjoiningstandsmustbecladonbothsidesandfinishedinplaincolouronly,bytheexhibitorwhohasthemerected.Allwallsmustbeofonelevelonly. Exposed walls must not display copy, logos or graphics or other advertising on the neighboursside.IntheinterestoftheExhibitionasawhole,itmaybenecessarytoremoveoralterpartofastand.Ifwefeelthisactionmustbetaken,thiswillbeattheexpenseoftheexhibitorconcerned.

    The above rules will be closely monitored.

    HEIGHT GRADING SYSTEMThe maximum height for Space Only standsisasfollows,includingnamesignortrademark.AllSpaceOnlyexhibitorsmustfollowtheheightgradingsystem:

    Halls1,2,5,6,7,8,SheikhMaktoumHall,SheikhRashidHallandSheikhSaeedHallthemaximumheightallowed6 metres

    ThemaximumheightbetweenHalls2and3asalsobetweenSheikhMaktoumandSheikhRashidHall(underbulkhead)is4 metres.

    Halls3and4maximumheightallowed8 metres

    ZabeelHallmaximumheightallowed6 meters.IntheLinkbetweenZabeelHall&Hall1theheightallowedis 4 meters.All Space Only exhibitors shall submit Form 6 "Notice of Intention to Erect a Stand and/or carry out ElectricalInstallations". Details of work to be carried out including dimensional drawings showing the front, side andback perspectives, elevation and floor layout of the stand must accompany this form.

    Double-storey StandExhibitorsbuildingdouble-storeystandswillhavetoensureanopengroundfloorplansoas tonotobstructtheview,inanyway,oftheneighbouringstands.

    Constructional details must accompany Form 6 where it is intended to:1.) Erecta"double-storeyStand".2.) Providefora"CloselySeatedAudience"of15ormorechairs"theatrestyle".3.) Buildanypartofthestandordisplayanexhibitexceeding4minheightabovetheflooroftheHall.4.) ThetraveldistancefromanypartofaStandtoanopensideorexitortoaGangwayisgreaterthan

    10m.

    5.) Constructaplatformfloorover600mminheightfromtheHallfloor.No work is to commence in the Halls until written approval is obtained from the Senior Operations Manager Exhibitions, Dubai World Trade Centre (L.L.C.).

    Information Required1.) Drawingsanddetails,inwriting,shallbesubmittedby01 August, 2009.2.) Drawingsshallbeproducedinaclearandintelligiblemanneronsuitablematerialsandtoascale,which

    isindicatedofatleast1:200.3.) Anydesigncertificates,loadtests,structuralcalculationsoranyotherdetailsas requested,willonlybe

    acceptedwhereprovidedbycompetent,qualifiedexperiencedstructuralengineers.

    4.) AplanofeveryflooroftheStand,asectionthrougheachstoreyoftheStandandelevationsuponwhichshallbeshown:(a) theformanddimensionsofeverystructuralmemberoftheStand,(b) thematerialstobeusedintheconstructionoftheStand,(c) theformanddimensionsofeverystaircase,(d) thewidthandpositionofeveryGangwaywithintheStand,(e) thewidthandpositionofanyfireoremergencyexitandescaperouteswithintheStand,and(f) theprovisionmadeinthestructureoftheStandforprotectionagainstfireandspreadofflame.

    Fitness of MaterialsMaterialsusedinorabouttheerection,construction,alterationorextensionofaStandshallbe(a) ofasuitablenatureandqualityinrelationtothepurposesforandconditionsinwhichtheyareused(b) adequatelymixedorpreparedbeforebeingbroughttotheCentre(c) applied,usedorfixedsoasadequatelytoperformthefunctionsforwhichtheyaredesigned.STRUCTURAL STABILITYInterpretation"deadload" meansthe forcedue tothe staticmass of all walls,partitions,floors, roofsand finishesand"imposed load" means the load assumed to be produced by the intended occupancy or use, includingdistributed,concentrated,impact,dynamicandinertialoads.Calculation of LoadingIndeterminingforthepurposeofthisparttheloadstowhichanyStandwillbesubjected:(a) deadloadsshallbecalculatedfromtheactual knownweightsof thematerials used. Any beams

    and/or flooring thatare forthe purposeof lateral distribution shallbe designedto carrya uniformly

    distributedloadpersquaremetreofnotlessthan1kN/m2.

    (b)

    "imposedloads" shall becalculated asbeing equivalent toa uniformly distributed load per squaremetreofareameasuredonplanofnotlessthan5kN/m

    2.Structure of Stands

    ThestructureofaStandshallsafelysustainandtransmittotheflooroftheHallthecombined"deadload"and"imposedload"withoutanydeflectionordeformationaswillimpairthestabilityoftheStand.

    FIRE PRECAUTIONSMaterials to be used in the Construction of StandsAnypartofthewallorfloorofaStandshallbeconstructedofeither:(a) non-combustiblematerial;(b) flameresistingplasticmaterial;(c) flameresistingboarding;(d) timberofanythicknesstreatedsoastobeflameresisting;(e) timberofthicknessmorethan25mmorchipboardorblockboardeachofmorethan18mmthickness.

    Anymaterialsthatare"Noncombustible"and"flameresisting"arematerialsthatcomplywiththerelevantISO(InternationalOrganisationforStandardisation)whichrecognisesindividualcountriestestmethods.Floors and Ceilings Constructed of Timber, Chipboard or BlockboardAnypartofafloorofaStandmaybeconstructedofnaturalunprovedtimberofminimumthickness25mmprovided thetimber isclosejointed. Woodchipboardorblockboard usedfor a floor shall beof minimumthicknessof18mm.Decorative Finishes to Stands1.) AllmaterialsusedfordecorativefinishestoaStandmustbeabletopassatestforflammabilityorfor

    surfacespreadofflame.ThetestcriteriashallbeofcomplianceifthetestmethodsarerecognisedbytheISO,andmaterialsusedwillbedeemedtobesuitableiftheycompliedwiththestandardsrecognisedbytheISO.

    2.) TextilefabricsusedforinteriordecorativepurposeswithinaStandshall:(a) befixedtautand/orbeintightpleatstoasolidbacking.(b) besecuredatfloorlevelbyaskirtingnotlessthan75mmdeep.(c) shallnotignitewhensubjectedtoaflameforthedurationof10seconds.(d) shallnothaveanafterglowwhensubjectedtoaheatsourcefor10seconds.

    3.) PaintusedinthedecorativefinishtoaStandshallbeawater-basedpaint.Oilbasedpaintshallnotbeused.DWTCwillnotpermittheuseofpaintsprayerswithintheHalls.AnypaintdepositedintheCentreinthecourseofdecoratingorbyspillageoranyothermeanswillberemovedbyDWTCandcharged.

    CAVITIES AND SPACES AROUND STANDS1.) Everycavityandspaceunder,betweenorbehindaStandshallbesealedoffandshallnotbeusedfor

    anypurposeotherthanforthepassageofservicesandinspection. Suitabletrapsshallbeprovidedtogiveaccesstoandsuchtrapsshallbefixedflushwiththefloororwallandbemaintainedunobstructed.

    2.) Noemptycrates,cartons,boxes,shavingsorotherpackagingmaterialshallbestoredon,in,underorbehindanyStandbutshallberemovedfromtheHallwhenunpackinghasbeencompleted.Materialtobeusedforre-packingshallnotbereturnedtotheStanduntiltheExhibitionisclosed.

    MEANS OF ESCAPEStairways and Ramps to Stands1.) Anystairwayhavingatotalriseofmorethan600mmshallcomplywiththefollowingrequirements:

    (a) thereshallbeclearheadroomofnotlessthan2moverthewholewidthofthestairway;(b) thewidthshallbenotlessthan1m;(c) thereshallnotbefewerthanthreenormorethansixteenrisersperflight;(d) theheightoftherisershallbenotbelessthan75mmnormorethan180mm;(e) thegoingshallbenotlessthan280mmandtheaggregateofthegoingandtwicetherisershall

    benotlessthan550mmnormorethan700mm;(f) thegoingofthelandingshallbenotlessthanthewidthofthestairway;(g) wheretapered steps are constructed, the angle formed by the nosing of the tread and the

    nosingofthetreadorlandingimmediatelyaboveitshallbenotmorethan15degrees;(h) ahandrailshallbe-

    (i) providedoneachsideofaflightofthestairwayandwherethestairwayexceeds1.9min

    widthahandrailshallbeprovidedsoastodividetheflightequally(ii) designedastoaffordadequatemeansofsupporttopersonsusingtheflight,(iii) continuousforthelengthoftheflight,and

    (iv)securelyfixedataheightofnotlessthan840mmormorethan1m(measuredverticallyabovethelineofpitchoftheflight).(i) thetreadsandlandingsshallnotbeconstructedofslatsorperforatedmaterial.(j) eachtreadshallbelevelandthenosingofeachtreadshalloverlapthebackedgeofthetread

    belowitbynotlessthan15mm.(k) consecutivetaperedtreadsshalleachhavethesamegoingandrateoftaper.

    2.) Cupboardsformedbeneathstairwaysandrampsshallbelinedthroughoutwithnon-combustiblematerial.

    3.) AnystairwaytoaDouble-storeyStandshallnotdischargedirectlytoaGangwaybuttothegroundfloorofaStand,whichprovidesunobstructedaccesstoaGangway.

    4.) Anyramphavingatotalriseofmorethan600mmshallcomplywiththefollowingrequirements: (a) therequirementsofparagraphs(1)(a),(b)and(h)above.

    (b) theslopeoftherampshallnotexceed1:12gradientRequirements where Provision is made for a Closely Seated Audience

    1.) ThisRegulationshallapplywhereprovisionismadeforaCloselySeatedAudienceofmorethanfifteenpersons,theatrestylewithinaStand.

    2.) Themaximumnumberofpersons,whichmaybeaccommodated,shallbedisplayedandcalculatedinrelationtothearea,utilisedbysuchaudienceattherateof0.5m2perperson;thisnumbershouldbeprominentlydisplayed.

    3.) EmergencylightingfromasourceotherthanthatsupplyingthenormallightingintheCentre.

    4.) ThenumberofexitsshallnotbelessthanthenumbershowninthesecondcolumnofTable A (page 8)inthisRegulationandtheminimumwidthofexitshallbenotlessthanthewidthshowninthethirdcolumnofthatTableineachcasehavingregardtothenumberofpersonsshowninthefirstcolumnofthatTable,providedthateachexitshallberemotefromanyother.

    5.) EachexitshalldelivertoaGangwayterminatingatoneorbothendsatanexitdoorontheperimeterofaHallandtheGangwayshallnotbelesswidththanthecombinedminimumwidthsofeachexitdischargingtothatGangway.

    7.) Whereastageisprovided:(a) notlessthanhalftheexitsfortheaudienceshallbesitedremotefromthestage;(b) twoexitsoneofwhichmustbeotherthanbywayof anystage,shallbeprovidedfromeach

    dressingroomineitherofthefollowingcases-(i) wherethetraveldistancefromanypointinsuchroomtotheexitdoorwaytherefrom

    exceeds7.5m,(ii) wherethereisdirectaccesstoastageorplatformorstagebasement.

    8.) SeatsandGangwaysintheauditoriumshallbesoarrangedthat:-(a) freeandreadyaccessisdirecttoeachexit;(b) noportionofanyGangwayshallbemorethan18mfromanexitfromtheauditoriummeasured

    alongthelineoftheGangway;(c) theseatingareaassignedtoeachpersonshallnotbelessthan

    (i) 750mmindepthwherebacksareprovidedor600mminanyothercase;(ii) 500mminwidthwherearmsareprovidedor450mminanyothercase;

    (d) aclearseatwayofatleast300mmmeasuredperpendicularlyfromthebackofoneunittothefrontoftheunitimmediatelybehindshallbeprovided;

    (e) thenumberofseatsinarowshallnotexceedtwelveifthereisaGangwayatoneendoftherowandtwenty-four,wherethereisaGangwayateachrowend;

    (f) Allchairsorothersingleseatsshallbesecuredtogetherinlengthsofnotfewerthanfourseats;

    (g) Provisionshallbemadeforfixingtothefloortherowsofseatingflankingthefront,backandcrossGangwaysandseatsnearexits, but ifalltheseats ineach roworlengtharesecuredtogether,onlytheendseatsofsuchroworlengthshallbefixedtothefloor;

    9.) Notwithstandingtheprovisionsofparagraph(8)(g)ofthisRegulationwhereitisimpracticabletofixsuchseatingandtheseatingisnotofapermanentnature,floorbarsmaybeused.Suchbarsshallhaveacamberedtopsurfaceandshallextendfromtherowtobefixedtoatleasttwoadjacentrowsbutshallnot

    BUILDING WORKS AND FIXINGSGeneralNo fixings or attachments to or penetrationof the fabric, structure or floors of any part of the Centre ispermitted.Thisshallincludeattachmentstothestructuralsteelwork,andtheanchorageofguyropes,wires,crampsortackle foranypurposeto anypartof thebuilding fabric andstructure,whetherto theinterior orexterior.

    Suspended FittingsSuspended stand fittings will not be permitted. However the Dubai World Trade Centre may permitsuspensionfromtheHallroofofoverhead-suspendedlightbanksprovidedthat:

    Installations of overheadsuspendedlightingrigs, ChainHoist orwireswinch lifting equipment,catenarieswires,aresubjecttolimitationsonweightloading.Eachriggingpointcannotexceed250kgs,andmaynotbesuspendedfromanyfixtureotherthanthemainbeams.Toensurecompletesafety,itisimperativethatweareprovidedwith,a detaileddrawingspecifying theamount,dimension, load,proposedsuspensionpointsandpositioningofthebankswhichrequiretobesuspended.Thisdrawingalongwiththestanddesignneedstobesubmittedtousby31 August 2009,for checkingprior toissuingfinal approval.DWTCManagementreservestherighttorestrictorrefusethesuspensionofanysystemforwhichnecessaryinformationisnotavailableorrestrictorrefusethesuspensionofanysystemduetoloadinglimitationsorno-notificationsoftheintentiontorig.

    Details submitted are required to demonstrate safe installation and removal procedures and to providecalculationsandconclusionsoftheadequacyof thesystem.     Fixings to FloorsFixingstothesurfaceofthehallfloortosecuremarginboards,cableclipsandsimilaritemsofStandfittingsisnotpermitted.AnydamagetothefloorwillberepairedbyDWTCandchargedaccordingly.Adhesive TapesAdhesive tapes used to fix carpets or othermaterials to floor areasmust be removed after use withoutdamagetothefloor.Plasticpackingtape,gaffertape,maskingtapeordraftingtape,whicharethemostdifficulttapestoremovefromfloors,shouldnotbeused.DWTCwillexaminethehallfloorsaftertheremovaloftapesandifthefloorsurfaceisfoundtobedamagedachargewillbemadeforrepairs.     SUPPLY AND USE OF ELECTRICITYPower circuits should be designed with the equipment to be exhibited taken into consideration that equipmenthas earth leakage losses, which cause nuisance tripping on other equipment on the stand.Electrical Supply

    DWTCwill not supply electricity toanyStand, feature,displayor exhibit,whichdoes not comply withthefollowingRegulationsoritsreasonablerequirements.Electrical InstallationsTheelectricalinstallationincludinganytemporaryinstallationsinconnectionwiththeprovisionofelectricitytoStands and other parts of theCentre shall be of such a nature as to ensure safety in the utilisation ofelectricity.InstallationswithinStandsshallbecarriedoutinacompetentmannerandanyinstallationfoundtobeunsatisfactorywouldnotbeconnectedtothemainssupplyuntilDWTCissatisfied.Whereaconnectionismadeandafaultbecomesapparenttheequipmentshallnotbeuseduntilthefaulthasbeenrectified.Standard Supplies

    Single Phase 240V:50cyclespersecondACsupply,earthedneutralbetween2 and30 ampswith100mARCD/ELCBprotectionanyonesupply.

    Separate Lighting and Machinery MainsSeparatemainswillbesuppliedforexhibitorsmachineryandequipmentfromthoseusedfortheprovisionoflighting.1.) Connection of machinery to lighting mains

    ConnectionofmachinerytolightingmainswillNOTbepermitted.

    2.) Connection of lighting or small power to machinery mainsConnectionof lightingorsmall power tomachinerymains isprohibited. Ifanysuch connections aremade,thenthepartyresponsibleforplacingtheorderforelectricalsuppliestothatStandwillberequiredtoorderandhaveinstalledanappropriatelightingmain.WherethisisnotpracticaltheStandwillbesubjecttoasurchargeequivalenttothelateordercostofthelightingmainwhichwouldotherwisehavebeeninstalled.

    Mainswillnotbeconnecteduntilthisisrectified.Location of Boards

    Distributionboardsandsimilarequipmentshallbeinstalledadjacenttothefusedisolators.Switchandfusegear,motorcontrols,starters,etc.,shallbereadilyaccessible,suitablyconnectedandoutofreachof Public Gangways. The electrical contractor responsible for the Stand installation shall supplysuitableservicemainstoconnecthis/herinstallationtothemainsupplycablessuppliedbyDWTC.Ordering of Electrical Supplies

    Placing of OrdersOrders will only beaccepted whenmade inwriting usingtheElectrical Mainsorder form intheExhibitorManual.Supplywillbeacableonlytothestand.Thepositionofthecableonthestandwilldependonthepositionofthecabletrenchservingthestand.Anyotherterminationrequiredshouldbeordered.Deadline for OrdersOrdersformainselectricalsuppliesshallbeplacednotlaterthan17 September, 2009.Ordersformainselectricalsuppliesreceivedafter17 September, 2009 willincura20%surcharge.PaymentThe Official Standfitting and Electrical Contractor reserves the right to refuse to connect a supply untilpaymenthasbeenreceived.

    Routing and Termination PositionsThe mainselectrical supplyshallbe brought onto the Stand from a trench within the area of the Stand.ConnectionsfromatrenchonanadjacentStandshallnotbepermittedunlessthereisnotrenchontheStand,ororganisersandadjacentStandholderhavegiventheirpriorpermission.Only authorised personnel are allowed to access the trenches or remove trench covers.

    ThecrossingofGangwayswithmainselectricalsuppliesviafasciasandfloorsisprohibited.Note: PersonsresponsiblefordesigningthelayoutofStandsshouldacquaintthemselveswiththelocationoftheunderfloorservicetrenchesintheHallsusedforinstallingStandservicestoensurethatStandlayoutscan,oraredesignedto,permittheterminationofmaincablesoverthefloortrench.Alterations to Orders

    1. Termination PositionWheretheterminationpositionofamainssupplyisalteredafterthedeadlinedateforplacingorders,thiswillbetreatedbytheOfficialElectricalContractorasalateorderandwillbesubjecttoa50%surcharge.2.     Proliferation of Mains SuppliesWhere installation ofa numberofsmall supplieswould, in theopinionof DWTC,lead toanunacceptableproliferationofsupplies,thenDWTCmay,atitsdiscretion,eitheritselfinstallalargersupplyandprovidethesupplyorderedbysub-distributionwithintheblock,orinstructthenominatedcontractorthatonlyasinglemainwillbeinstalledtothegroupofStands.Access for InstallationThemainssupplytoStandsorexhibitswillbeinstalledon 14 October, 2009providedthatthesupplyhasbeenorderedbefore thedeadline.BeforeoccupyingtheStand,Exhibitorsandtheircontractorsmustcheckthatthesupplyhasbeeninstalledand,ifnot,shallonlyoccupyareasoftheStandsitepermittedbyDWTCuntilsuchtimeasthesupplyisinstalled.1.) Testing of Stand Installations

    Toverifycompliance,DWTCandits representativeswill inspectand testall installations. Thepersonresponsible for the installation, only when it is complete and ready for inspection and testing,mustcompleteand hand Form"Request forConnection andEnergisingofUtilitySupply toStand". Wherefoundtobesatisfactory,powerwillbesupplied.Wheretheinstallationisfoundtobeunsatisfactorythepowerwill not be supplied and the person responsiblemust rectify any faultsand advise when theinstallation is ready for re-inspecting and re-testing by re-submission of the test form. It is theresponsibility of the person undertakingan installation to carryout the appropriate testing to ensurecompliancewithRegulationspriortothesubmissionofForm"RequestforConnectionandEnergisingofUtilitySupplytoStand".

    2.) Modification or Addition to Stand Installations If,afterinitialinspectionandsupplyingofmainsutilitysupplies,modificationsoradditionsaremadetothe

    Standinstallations,thesemustbenotifiedtoDWTC'sEngineeringforinspectionorre-testing.3.) Appliances Acompetentpersonmusthavetestedanyelectricalapplianceconnectedtoasocketbeforeitisplugged

    inand energised. The responsibility for ensuring this testing is carried out is that of the person, orpersons,responsibleforbringingtheequipmentintotheHall.

    4.) Responsibility

    DWTCwillnotacceptresponsibilityfor:(a) Delays

    Delaysinsupplyingpowerto installationsfoundtobeunsatisfactoryorwhereinsufficienttimehasbeenallowedfortesting.

    (b) FaultsAny faultsdiscovered in installations after testing by DWTC. No approval, after testing orotherwise, shall absolve the exhibitor of its obligation to comply in all respects with theseRegulations.Time of Operation of Electricity Supplies

    1.) During Build-Up During the build-up period for theExhibition, supplies which have been tested and connectedwill

    normallybeswitchedonwithinhalfanhouraftertheofficialopeningtimesoftheHallandoffwithinhalfanhourbeforetheofficialclosingtimeoftheHalleachday.Additionally,theremaybeinterruptionstothesupplytoallowDWTCtomakeextraconnections.

    2.) During Exhibition Open Days ElectricalsuppliestoStandswillnormallybeswitchedononehourbeforeopeningandoffhalfanhour

    afterthe closeof the Exhibition eachday. All Stands not requiring continuous supplies should beswitchedoffusingtheStandisolatorassoonaspossibleafterthecloseofeachExhibitionopenperiod.

    3.) During Breakdown Allelectricalsupplieswillbeswitchedoff30minutesaftertheclosingtimeoftheExhibitiononthelast

    day.WhereanExhibitorrequiresasupplyafterthecloseoftheExhibition,arequestforsuchsupplyshouldbemadethroughtheorganiser24hoursbeforethefinalclosingoftheExhibition.ThesupplymaybereinstatedafterthecloseoftheExhibitiononceessentialsafetyworkhasbeencompleted.

    WIRING INSTALLATIONS ON STANDSEarthingEarth LeakageEachExhibitorshallprovideexactdetailsofearthleakagetopreventtrippingandshallhaveprovidedbythe

    contractors,earthleakage(RCD/ELCB)protection(30mAforlightingand100mAforexhibitpower)suitablypositionedbeyondtheterminationpointofthesuppliedmainscable.Regulations and Codes of PracticeMetalconduit,metalcasingofapparatus,framesofmotors,etc.,shallbeefficientlybondedtoearthusingtheearthingsystemprovidedwithinDWTC'spermanentelectricaldistributionsystem.Lighting FittingsAteverylightingpointanearthterminalshallbeprovidedandconnectedtotheearthcontinuityconductorofthefinalsub-circuit.Metal Framework, etc.Where theelectricalbonding toearthofmetal framedStands,metalwaterpipes,sinks andotheritems isnecessary,thisshallbetoanearthconductor,whichterminatesatDWTC'selectricalsupply.Thebonding

    conductorshallhaveaminimumcross-sectionareaof 6mm2

    . Undernocircumstancesshallanyof theseitemsbeusedasthesolemeansofearthinganelectricalinstallation.WhereblockmainsareemployedonmetalframedStands, theStandframework shallbebondedat theincomingmainpositionandalsoat theterminationpointof everysubmain. The bonding conductor shall have aminimum crosssection areaof

    6mm2.Insulation Sleeving

    Every earth continuity conductor shall, wherever exposed, includingwithinall termination enclosures, betotallyinsulatedusinggreenandyellowPVCsleeving.Residual Current Devices/ ELCBWhere a residual current device ELCB is installed this shall only be considered a secondarymeans ofprotection.WiringMaterial SpecificationStandwiringmaybePVC,elastomericorotherplasticsheathedcable,notlessthan1.5mm 2crosssectionalareaand300/500voltgrade.JointsJointsshallnotbemadeincablesexceptwherenecessaryasaconnectionintothecircuit.Insuchcasesinsulatedscrewedconnectorsshallbeused,andshallbetotallyenclosedininsulatedenclosures.Excess Current ProtectionAll circuitsmust beseparately protected forexcess current with fusesorothermeans ofexcess currentprotection.

    Lighting Circuits

    1.) Maximum Capacity Lightingcircuits,servingmorethanonefitting,shallnotcarrymorethan1200VAandallsectionsofthe

    wiring system shall be capable of carrying its circuit full load current.Where discharge lighting isconnectedthentheappropriatereductionshallbemade(normallyto800VA).Allapparatusover1000VAshallbeindividuallyfused.

    2.) Main Load WherethelightingloadofanyStandorfeatureisinexcessof14000VA,thecircuitshallbearrangeto

    besuitableforconnectiontoa3phasesupplywithneutralandphaseconductorsbeingofequalsize.

    Flexible Cords1.) Limitations TheuseofflexiblecordsforStandwiringisgenerallyprohibitedotherthanwhereformingpartofa

    2.) Construction Flexiblecordsshallbeofcircularsection,fullyinsulatedandsheathed,andtheonlyformofjointing

    shallbepurposemadenon-reversibleflexconnectors,beingshroudedandhavinganearthterminal.3.) Length Forstaticappliances,flexiblecordsshallnotexceed2minlength.

    4.) Position Theyshallbeinstalledremotefromtextilefabrics.Lamp HoldersLamp holders in lighting systems must have screw clamp or screw terminal connections between theconductorsandthe plungersof thelampholders. Lampholdersusing spikes forconnectionsshall notbeused.Special Lighting SystemsMustcomplywithallRegulationsandaresubjecttotestingandspotchecks.

    1.) Track Lighting Systems Thesemay be used provided the track and all the accessories areof thesamemake, and also

    providedtheloadingonthesystemiscompatiblewiththeratingofthesub-circuitwiringandfuse,andcomplieswiththerequirementsofEarthingsectionandProtectionofWiringsection.

    2.) Other Lighting Systems Onlysystemsdesignedandmanufacturedtosuittheirintendeduseshallbepermittedandthesemust

    complywithallotherrelevantaspectsoftheseRegulations.

    3.) Client's Own Equipment Where"client'sown"equipmentisusedthismustcomplywithallRegulationsandissubjecttotesting

    andspotchecks.Safety Extra Low Voltage Lighting Systems1.) Transformers Multiple connection Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV) Transformers shall be of an isolating type

    providingahighdegreeofsafetyandhavingafusedprimaryconnection.Everysecondaryconnectionshallbe individuallyfused to its appropriate rating orshallbe fittedwitha manual re-set protectivedeviceapprovedbyDWTC'sEngineering.Transformersshallbeclearlylabelledindicatingtheprecisedetailsofanyintegralsecondarycircuitprotectivedevice:thattheyaremanualre-setandshallincludetheratedtransformerpoweroutputinVA.

    2.) Positioning Care shallbetakenwheninstallingSELVtransformers, whichshall be fixed at high level, allowing

    adequateventilationandaccessfortesting/fusereplacement.

    Coils/Reels of Flexible Cord/CableCoilsofflexiblecordorcablelooseoronreelsandformingpartofthecircuitshallnotbepermitted.Protection of WiringPlatform floors must be provided in the cases of an extraordinary amount of cabling an exhibition of this typenecessitates.However,anycablelaidacrossthefloorofaStandshallbeeffectivelyprotectedandfixedtosuchfloorinsuchamannerastopreventriskofinjuryandwhereliabletomechanicaldamageorinterference,shallbetoughoverall sheathed or armoured orenclosed in protective conduit, trunking or cladding.     (b) FusesThe rating of fuses in fused plugs shall be appropriate for both the equipment and flexible cordconnectedthereto.Non-flexiblecordsshallnotbeconnectedintoplugs.

    bestarted"direct-on-line".Where,however,the"direct-on-line"startingofamotoris essentialtothesatisfactoryoperationofthemachine,detailsofsuchrequirementsshallbesubmittedinadvancetoDWTCfordispensation.

    1.) Electrical Equipment and Exhibits Electricalequipmentandexhibitsshallbeguardedasnecessarytopreventaccidentalcontactwithlive

    2.) Conditions of Operation Proper consideration shall be given to the conditions under which the equipment is being

    demonstrated,whichmaywelldifferfrom theconditionsunderwhichit isnormallyinstalledand forwhichthenormalsafeguardsmaynotbeappropriate.

    3.) Lighting Fittings Lightingfittingsmountedbelow2mfromfloorlevelorotherwiseaccessibletoaccidentalcontactshall

    be firmly and adequately fixed and so sited or guarded as to prevent risk of injury to persons ormaterials.

    4.) Heat Generation Incandescent lamps and other apparatus or appliances with high temperature surfaces shall, inaddition tobeing suitablyguarded,bearrangedwell awayfrom combustibleexhibitsand in suchamanneraswouldpreventcontacttherewith.Standscontainingaconcentrationofelectricalapparatus,lightingfittingsorlampsliabletogenerateabnormalheatshallbewellventilated.

    Transformers and Frequency Converters1.) Step-Up Transformers Step-up transformers shall not be installedwithout thewritten permission of DWTC'sEngineering.

    Where such permission is required, drawings and full details shall be submitted at the time ofapplication.Where,however,step-uptransformersareusedasanintegralpartofanyelectronicorsimilar apparatus, appliance or equipment, and providing the use of such step-up transformersconformswiththecustomarypracticewithinaparticularindustry,nosuchpermissionwillberequired.

    2.) Step-Down Transformers Step-downtransformersshallhaveseparatelywoundprimaryandsecondarywindings.Theironcore

    andframeshallbeconnectedtoearth.Inadditiontothenormalfuseprotectiononthephaseline(s)oftheprimarycircuit,thesecondarycircuitshallbefittedwithfuseprotectioninthephaseline(s)andwiththreephasetransformers,theneutralconnectedtoearth.

    3.) Auto-Transformers Auto-transformersshall notbeused, exceptas an integral part ofmotorstarters,unlessthewritten

    permissionofDWTChasbeenobtained.4.) Location TransformersshallbeplacedinpositionsoutofreachofthePublicandshallbeadequatelyventilated.5.) Oil Filled Transformers Oilfilledtransformerscontainingmorethan20litresofoilshallbemountedinasuitablecatch-pitor

    traycapableofcontainingtheentirequantityofoilplusamarginof10%.

    6.) Frequency Convertors DWTCshallbenotifiedinadvanceoftheintentiontoprovideapparatustoconvertthefrequencyoftheelectricalsupplytoanymachineorexhibit.

    Space for WorkingElectrical apparatus(other thanexhibits andportableequipment) shallbe fixedin positionwithadequatespaceforoperationandmaintenance.Chokes and Capacitors1.) Location Chokeandcapacitorforfluorescentlightingshallbefixedinaccessibleandwellventilatedpositions

    Electric Cookers, Kettles, Irons etc.1.) General Theuseofexhibitswithexposedelementsisnotpermitted.Anyapparatuswhichhasahotsurface

    andallelectricalappliancessuchaselectrickettles,ironsetc.,shallbeguardedwherenecessaryandstoodor mountedon incombustiblematerial. Allappliancesunder thisheadingwhich areliable to

    exceed a surface temperature of 70oC shall be supplied from a socketoutlet having a pilot lampindicatingwhethertheapplianceisswitchedonornot.Kettles,ironsandsimilarappliancesshallnotbeconnectedtothelightingcircuit;theyshallbeseparatelyconnectedtotheelectricalsupply.

    2.) Electric Kettles Electrickettlesshallbefittedwithanautomaticsafetydevicewherebyintheeventofboilingdry,the

    kettlewillbeautomaticallydisconnected.3.) Adjacent Construction Walls adjacent to all electrical cookers,irons,kettles,hot plates,etc.,shall be protected with non-

    combustiblematerial.Shelvesarenotallowedimmediatelyaboveanyoftheappliancesandadequateventilationshallbeprovided.

    Batteries1.) General

    Charged batteries may only be exhibited as part of electric lighting, ignition or starting for motorvehicles,boatengines,smalldemonstration,houselighting,plantsorothersmallworkingdevices.NoStand lighting shall be connected thereto. The use of approved purpose made self-containedsecondarylightingfittingsbothofamaintainedandnon-maintainedpatternwillbepermittedprovidedtheyareconnectedtoa24-hoursupply.

    2.) Terminals Allterminalsofchargedbatteries,whetherinuseornot,shallbefittedwithacoverofnon-conducting

    incombustiblematerial.3.) Switches and Fuses Adoublepolemetalclad switchwithsuitable fusesshallbefitted andshall controlallconnections

    servingsuchappliances.4.) Charging

    (a) Current Regulation Thebatterychargingunitshallbefittedwithanautomaticcurrentregulatorwhichcutsoffthe

    mainssupplytotherectifierwhenthebatteryisfullychargedandisotherwiseofanapprovedtype.

    (b) Times for Charging ThebatterymayonlybechargedontheStandattimeswhenthePublicisnotintheHall.

    (c) Charger Isolation The circuit to the charger unit shall be directly connected to DWTC's supply with its own

    isolator,separatefromallothercircuits, topermit theisolationof theseother circuitswithoutaffectingthechargingcircuit.

    (d) Enclosure ThevehiclesorequipmentanditschargermustStandinafreeandenclosedspace,thebatteryboxcovershallberemovedandthegasventsofthecellsshallbeclearedandinspecteddaily.

    (e) No Smoking Signs "NoSmoking"signsshallbedisplayedinthevicinityofthechargingoperation.

    5.) Batteries Not in Use Charged batteries not in use on exhibit vehicle or other exhibits shall be disconnected at both

    terminals.
