Trade and Investment Commissioner for India
Gitesh has more than 19 years’ experience in international business, including executive roles in the private sector and a decade as a trade and investment adviser for Austrade.
Gitesh’s private-sector experience included senior roles in sales and strategic marketing. Most recently, he was Chief Marketing Officer for one of India’s largest firms, D&M Workspace Solutions. In this role, he was twice included in independent lists of India’s ‘Top 100 Marketers’. Prior to that, he spent five years with the Taj Hotels group.
During his time as a trade and investment adviser for Austrade in Chennai, India, Gitesh worked with Australian companies on strategies for entering Indian markets. He advised businesses in a wide range of sectors, including environment and clean technologies, food and beverage, agribusiness, media and entertainment, education, building and construction, infrastructure, aviation, and retail and fashion. His achievements included securing a large investment in Australian agribusiness.
Gitesh holds an MBA (International Business) from the University of Western Sydney, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Sales and Marketing from India’s National Institute of Sales, and a Bachelor in Corporate Secretaryship from the University of Madras. He was one of the founders of the Australian Alumni Association in India.
